Famed engine builder Earl Gaerte has passed away... His engines dominated the Sprint Car circuits for many years... Guess Larry Brazil and Dave Scarborough needed some good powerplants up there, so they sent for the best...

this has been such a terrible year for losing racing people. i guess its our age... the older i get, the more friends i lose. losing Jack was really a huge loss. i think i have some pics you might want. not today tho. i cant think straight. soon.

Wow.... what a year for losing top-notch talent, and outstanding people. Gaerte was an institution in short track racing for at least 30 years now. If he isn't in already, he's a shoe-in for the Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

I guess between Earl Gaerte, Dennis Boyd, Ray Baker and Randy Dorton, there is a bunch of Horsepower being created up there.
