  • Jack Smiths family...

Though i am so sad i can barely function today, i want you all to know that Jacks passing is a huge blessing. Unless you spent time with him in the last year, you can never know the agony he suffered. The last month was hell on earth. Pain that crippled him and made him scream ... So today i have so many mixed feelings. i know i will never see my dear friend again on earth but i also thank the good Lord he is not suffering anymore.
However... his wife will need us. This has been a painful journey for Kathy. She has lost her mate her best friend, her confidante. She has to care for her adult son who has downs syndrome, jacks dog that is actually a wolf/husky and some cats. she has a full time job and is probably burdened with medical bills that can never be paid. we must not forget her... it is only about a year since Kathy battled and won over breast cancer...it wasnt easy. she had a mastectomy and i think radiation. so much for one person to endure.
the girls have lost their father. they sat by his side these last couple weeks hurt and wondering how or why this happened to their dad. now they can grieve and move on with their lives knowing how dearly they were loved.. Jack made alot of friends during his racing days. we hurt alot ... i personally thank Rick Bristol for bringing Jack into Christianity a few months before his death. It brought Jack so much comfort. every time Bob Culbertson asked Jack if he wanted to pray with him Jack would close his eyes, grab Bobs hand or fold his together and you could see a peace come over him. He took this with him... Thank God...
well i appreciate your kindness to me but please give your hearts to Kathy Smith... she is lonely and sad and worried about her future. she was Jacks strength and she supported him in every facet of his life.
During the last couple years you all sure helped Jack. There was a fundraiser, Ricks charity, the wheelchair and lift... so many ways you showed your love... God bless all of you. we are truly a huge family and when the chips are down we pull together...the chips are down... ;-(

Please let me know Carol if there is anything I can do for Cathy. I know what she has been thru before and now again, it truly must be overwhelming. She is in my prayers always and has always been a friend ot me. So please, let her know that I am always here for her and will help her in anyway I can.

God bless you Cathy and I will keep you in my prayers.
