The good lord above must be building one heck of a race team. That's alot of racers here the last couple weeks.

Man that's tough news... I think he was pound for pound the best race car driver I ever saw... Was lucky to get to work with him directly when I was with Bob Luscomb's team in the late 70s when Dave drove for him after Bob retired... guess they can form a new team in Heaven now... RIP my friend...

I am sad to hear of Dave's passing, although his last days were tough, he has taken his final checkerd flag. He with out a doubt, was one of the very best drivers in Florida in any class. My thoughts are with his family.

Truly one of the best I have ever watched. He was always worth the drive to Citrus County.

His family will be in our prayers. This has been a bad year for my racing heros.

Dave in our car in about '77 at the Florida 200 at Golden Gate. I believe we ran 6th that day, against Hamke, Howe, Eddy, Trickle, Anderson, Gregory, Malcuit, Biderman, Bontrager, Tissot, Lindley, and a TON of other *great* cars that weekend.

                    Rip

I always likened Dave Scarborough to Donnie Tanner. They were about the same build, same quiet demeanor in public (the pits) and both drove the wheels off of anything I ever saw either of them race.

Makes me think of that Sammy Hagar song: "Remember the Heroes"

As racers, they both were among mine.

                      another loss--so sad.

reading in a book, and he quotes about Citrus County Speedway--"if you're not running your right rear wheel off of the number 2 turn, you're not running right".

This-here boy was a fast runner, for sure. So sad to hear about this loss.
