A good day with Jack

Just got home from visting with Jack and it was great. His spirits were high and we talked (mostly him) for hours. We relived some of our road trips and and other adventures we have had over the years. I gave everyone the messages that were given to me and there was that Jack smile. They have his pain managed and they wait on him hand on foot he is totaly enjoying all the attention. Of course Kathy and his daughters were there along with Carol Wicks and Bob Culbertson. Don Rhem got there right before I left. It was a good day my fellow KARNACians...it was a good day.

I'm glad

Not trying to suck up, surprised no one has accused me of that yet, but glad you had a day to re-live some old times with your old friend.

Jack is having so much fun with his racing friends. it has kept his mind off unpleasant things. hes eating, laughing, starting trouble and really enjoying our visits.
Jack, Rick, Jane and I, (and many hundreds of other), have been with Jack thru a million sagas... this one has been the most incredible. last week we were holding his hand and thought every breath would be the last. this week at least we see the spark in his eyes and the happiness and pride. we are hearing him laugh, listening to him conniving! watching him eat! Just amazing!
To all the people who sent messages, visited, emailed, called... please know that you have made a very scared man forget his fears for awhile. Not only that, you have shown his daughters just how popular and loved their dad is. you have shown his wife love and care....God bless all of you.... you are special!

Thanks Carol for including me in the sagas because Jack and I have been thru alot together over the years. I can't tell you how many times he just wanted to quit and I ended up taking over for him so he could take a break and do other things instead of karnac. We started the Pete Orr Sportsmanship Award together and up until 2009, had done it for 5 years. I can't tell you how much and how many things we have done together including track safety. That was a big thing for us. He has sent me from one end of the state to the other, listened to me when my dad got so bad and when my ex did what he did. We have been thru so much together that I probably could write a book on it all someday. But I am sure he is tired and needs time alone with his family and I know that is important to him. All we can do is keep him and the family in our prayers and know that God will take care of him. Just so glad he is out of pain right now because that is truly awful. Went thru that with my friend who died of cancer two years ago. But thank you for including me in your statement, that means alot to me right now.

Love you and have a great weekend with your grandkids. I have my 16 year old grandson this week and it is a trip for sure. He loves his x-box but sometimes you just have to hit him upside the head to get him to talk to you but I enjoy every minute with him.
