  • Some Bryan Wescott pictures

Bryan is in the black car, re-numbered with his III (in duct tape...LOL) when he first started driving for us (taken at Sunshine):

Bryan in our "Silver Bullet" for the 1985 Gulf Coast Classic at St. Pete:

Bryan, with my dad on the left and car owner Bob Kirk on the right, with a St. Pete feature win:

In the infield at Bradenton after the Coca-Cola 200, 1985:

In the pits at St. Pete, with Jimmy Cope's #58 next to us:

Jimmy, wasn't it the red '12' Bryan was driving the night he hit the pit wall at Sunshine ?. I was sitting on the top row of the pit stands that night, the impact was the hardest i had ever seen, and it scared the hell out of me, you could of heard a pin drop while they tried to get him out of the car. If i'm not mistaken wasn't Bryan in a coma for about 30 days as a result of it ?.

Yes, Bryan was in that red #12 when he got hurt. He came off of four in the middle of a three-wide battle about mid-pack, bounced off the outside car, then off the inside car and into the pit opening, hitting driver's side first (nearly identical to Lindley's crash at DeSoto). I have a link to the video (you were probably sitting very close to whoever shot the video - I know it was someone from Jimmy Cope's crew), and pictures of the car after Dad got it home (but out of respect, not gonna post 'em here). E-mail me if you want 'em. JimmyMack12@aol.com

Unfortunately, I wasn't there that night. I know that Bryan was laid up for a while, but don't recall if he was in a coma (I do remember that he broke and fractured a bunch of bones, though).

Sunshine was very good for us We won a BUNCH (probably most of our feature wins) at St. Pete. No matter who we had in the car - Scarborough, Pletcher, Billy Gill, Wayne Reutimann, Childers, Ernie Bass, Moyer, Randy Warren...), Dad could get that car to the Winner's Circle

Those drivers are some of the finest Late Model chauffeurs ever to sit in a race car, although i didn't know him personally back then, your dad and his equipment must of been well respected that drivers of that caliber would want to drive for him, you should be proud.

Thanks for posting. In the picture at Sunshine with Jimmy Cope parked next to you, are those a couple of the A team Mustangs? Miss watching those figure 8 guys. Great to see Charlie Meyer still going at it at Citrus along with a new generation of Meyers.

Yep, the green car is Charlie's #A2, and the dark red one is the #A8. Don't remember who drove it, but it was the only one that didn't have the white roof.

I have Denny and Charlie on my FaceBook...LOL...
