  • To our young racers and their families...

I started a thread to move you in the right direction. Your future is in YOUR hands! Part of that is in promotion...its nice to have sponsors and parents who do so much for you. But the ultimate sponsoring is thru your own ambition.
To be a racer isnt just about driving. its about treating each one of your fans like they are special. Its about respecting people. No foul language around kids or their parents. Its about impressing sponsors... and making them money! ;-)
A few yrs. back i was witness to Dickie Anderson training a kid for a racing future. Dickie put alot into this kid but the kid was more interesting in socializing... He lost out because Dickie is one of the best to ever grace a race track. So my point is to "LISTEN & LEARN" from the pros who try to help you along.
Alot of you are writing back and forth on Facebook and thats fun and ok. But lets concentrate more on your future than your social lives.
There are alot of people who read this board. They havent posted because they dont care to be involved with the nasty threads. Ignore all that. IT WILL NOT HELP YOU! So I am hoping you kids will get on here and tell everyone what you are doing. Whats your car #, what color should we look for, where will you race this week and what class....
There are several radio shows. Call them and ask to be a guest. Dont wait for people to come to you. You need them more than they need you.
Dont be cocky. No one likes it.
Travis Cope, BJ McLeod, Jay Middleton, Josh Williams, Dalton Baldwin, Amanda Ferguson, and hundreds of others like them are good examples of professionalism. Learn from them.
I have opened a door of opportunity... please walk thru and PROMOTE yourselves... dont be afraid to ask the more experienced drivers how you can improve. You dont have to brag. they are already aware of your performance. No matter how good you think you are, there is always room for improvement. You are the future of the sport we love and we want to know more about you! Good luck and be safe! OH... and have fun!
    Thank you... Much love...

i need to be more fair...

some of you dont give a darned about becoming famous ... you just do it for fun... and thats great. keeps ya on the asphalt but not running the streets. i am also proud of you and really enjoy watching you race. my only advice to you is to respect your fellow racers. they work hard to get their cars too and some are on real strict rations.
winning isnt always the prize. doing what you love and having fun doing it is a prize too. Thank you for entertaining us... every single car on the track makes for a race. not everyone can win. not all drivers can afford the faster cars or the faster series. but you all make up the sport! just know that you are appreciated...
