  • Treasure Coast Speedway, Ft Pierce

Can anyone tell me the name of the promoter at Treasure Coast Speedway in Ft Pierce in the late 60s? I was thinking maybe motorcyle promoter Dean someone who I believe was later killed in a plane crash. And was Penny Pender the starter at that same time?
    Thanks for any clues.

    OOPS, sorry Marty!

I didn't see your thread until after I posted mine.

Found this old news clip about a big motorcycle race in Ft Pierce in 1971, promoted by a Dean Dyess. Could this be the same Dean you are thinking of?

          Treasure Coast Speedway promoter

I was very young at the time but it seems to me that the promoter was Jim Honeycutt. I remember a story about him that wasn't very good so I'll keep it to myself right now. I just stumbled across this site while surffing the net. Looks great.

Yes, this is an old thread where I was looking for help to identify two of the men in the photo below (guy in white shirt with trophy shaking my B-I-L’s hand & guy in striped shirt on right) from 1967 when my B-I-L Kenny Faircloth and I ventured down to Treasure Coast Speedway and won a 100-Lap LM race.

Thanks to Marty Little, the Pender family and the Crowe family on the Palm Beach Fairgrounds Speedway FB Page they confirmed that the guy presenting the trophy was indeed the Track Promoter Jim Honeycutt and the Flagman on the right is Penny Pender.

In 1962 there was a promoter Albert Stokes who managed one of the Ft. Pierce tracks, came up and managed Eau Gallie. He wanted to run a memorial race for dad but mom said no way.
