  • Crash-A-Rama Rescheduled

Orlando Speedworld - Due to a Power Outage in the East Orlando Area from a severe lightning storm, Officials have been forced to reschedule the Crash-A-Rama Series for Saturday June 25th.

With a record crowd on-hand both in the grandstands and in the Pit Area, every attempt was made to complete the Event, however, a lightning strike in the area knocked out a power transformer forcing the postponing.

We look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday Night (6/25) for another stellar show from the Crash-A-Rama Series.

Hey dave yep good but not a record croud... the parking lot was 2/3rds full i hear and a record would be parking out frount in the drive and both sides of the road. so you were about 3,000 short of a record. Im sure im a lier agin.
                Truth
                thanks

Well... I looked up at the stands around 7:15 before I went out to my car and the place wasn't even half full... usually by that time the main grandstand is full and folks are starting to find places to sit around the turns... I'm sure the weather had a lot to do with it as many folks were just hanging out in the parking lot waiting to see what it would do, but I remember much bigger crowds with cars parked along the entrance from Hwy 50...
Didn't really see much advertising for this one... I expect there was, but not on any TV I watch or radio I listen too...
Here's a question... why not schedule the first Crash-A-Rama of the year in May like it used to be done? We never had weather problems when it was in May plus it was a bit cooler... Any rain would be just a few showers, not what happened Saturday night (and last year)...
So... this week... rain chance even higher... 50-60%... The Boat race may be just that this year... the heck with the cars! I'm sure Moe can make it work... after he gets that bus to stand on end finally LOL...

Dave, can't tell you what channel it was but there was quite alot of advertising on that station for Crash-A-Rama. It could have been 11 but I am not really sure but I did see quite a few for it. And I am sure the bad weather kept alot of folks from coming also. I know they say it is more fun in the rain but people just don't like getting soaked that much anymore.
