  • Points Battle Heats Up!

The points battle for the 2011 FMARA Championship heats up. With only 9 races left in the season, starting this Sat. night, Jack Duffy holds a 8 piont lead over Geoff Styner for the second place spot. The Rookie of the Year battle is only 20 points apart as John Ciolino holds the lead over Steven Maier. As Jay Stutz sits in the fourth spot, there is only 36 points separating fourth from eighth place Jamie Barnum. As of now, Steven Maier and Chris Gimmler are tied for the sixth spot in points. Although points leader Mike Belusar is 56 points ahead of second place, there is still a chance that he could feel pressure from Duffy and Styner late in the season. Come out to the races and cheer for your favorite or just to see some great side-by-side racing with alot of passing! A great part of the TQ midget races.........fast guys start at the back of the field every night. Plus, we are the running 15.3 second laps at Punta Gorda Speedway......" that's fast!"

Hope to see everyone come out and enjoy some great open-wheel racing.

Good job to the driver of the red 51 car this past Saturday night at Punta Gorda Speedway. He was picking that left front up through the corners like the open-wheel racers of old, and he was catching the leaders!

I don't remember his name, but he was fun to watch.

The # 51 is driven by third-generation racer, Chris Gimmler! This is only the second year that Chris has been in a race car of any kind. He has great talent and support from his Father Mark, Uncle Gary, and Grandfather Norm. It is a great asset to have Chris racing with the FMARA!
