People write on here all the time about ways of getting car counts up and people in the stands, well PGS had both last night, BUT can somebody please tell me in a race, especially a 100 lap race why you start the fastest guy on the pole. I love late model racing, I have crewed on them and for 5 years owned one, son still drives one in Ohio and we never had the fast guys start up front. Most nights we ran 30 lap features, my son and the other 3 fastest cars from the fast dash always started in the last 4 starting spots. This put a show on for the fans, gave the slower cars a chance for a win or a good finish and we won a lot of features. Really please somebody tell me why in Florida they start the fastest guy up front??? Oh we pulled out of the parking lot at lap 75...

Where at in Ohio? I've been to Painesville and Sandusky already this year.

Gotta agree with ya on starting the fast guys in the front. Makes for very little, if any, passing, and a "freight train", follow-the-leader type race. When we were racing at St. Pete, Tampa, and Bradenton years ago, they basically inverted the field, based on a four-week points system. We still won a ton of races from the back, ran in the top three or five every week.

The most tracks in Florida do some sort of re-draw for the start of the feature. The top 10 all pulled pills for their starting spots. The 7 just happened to draw the pole Saturday night.

The pole should'nt even be in the draw... The highest starting spot should be a six...

When I ran St. Pete in the mid 90's, the top 15 were inverted with the high point car starting 15th. Everyone else 16th on, lined up stright up. Wasn't unusual to have 24 plus cars every nite. This was based on a 4 week average. And if a car missed 2 nights, it went to the rear of the field. The first nite I ran there I started 24th I think (may have been 28th), and had a few cars behind me (finished 9th). Man I miss that place.

I'm impressed, you passed 15-19 cars your first nite at St Pete. You must have been a good driver back in your day. Not many people do that well their first time at a track. Can I get an autographed picture some time ? Do you really own a racing museum and where is it located. Vintage racecars and and their drivers are interesting. You should run some of them in DARA. It great to see the old guys still racing.

I was trying to be nice to you. I heard you were an older gentleman that has fallen on hard times, and to think I was feeling sorry for you. I hope you find happiness someday. Godbless you.

Congratulations to Shellnut on the win. His car was on rails all day and night.

I have to say that that is one good looking group of late models. And very competitive. Schofield flat black and orange looked awesome. He got my vote for best looking car this weekend. He was very fast also. Me and the wife finally made it over Friday night for the BBQ. That was the best BBQ and the side dishes were awesome. Great job to PGS for the dinner. We can never make it for practice on Friday cause my driver can't make it. So this time we just came for dinner and I'm glad we did. The show Saturday night was great. The broom crew did a great job also. Again, great job to all the PGS staff!!! Very well run.

How much is the reward ? If the price is right, I'll just tell you who I am. Then worry about your sorry ass ice picking my tires or something else because you ain't half enough man to even consider anything violent.

This is a perfect example of why I don't use my real name. You disagree with one nutbag on here and then your tires get slashed or your new totorhome scratched.

Go away in peace rabbitman before Elmer Fudd bags the rabbit.
