Sooooo....this whole "tunaman" thing got me to thinking...
Is it really worth getting *that* upset about something "said" on a message board? Hell, I'm not even in the same *state* any more. I at least use my real name; most of us on here *know* everyone else's real name. I *never* said anything derogatory *to* or *about* tunaman; the stuff I *did* pick on was some of the spelling - and his choice of Sprint Cup drivers. But not once did I ever call him any names (well, other than maybe "tunafish", that I can think of), never called him any "bad names", never cussed him out (like he's done to me via PM) or anything...so not sure what the deal is. There's no need, in my opinion, to get *that* upset over some of this stuff. I only pick on Kyle Busch - tunaman's driver - because of his little "me, me, me" attitude, not his driving ability. He's a HELLUVA driver. Never said I was "perfect", either; hell, I'm far from it. I've made *plenty* of mistakes in life. I'm not a "racing know-it-all", either, as tuna thinks I am. I may be *pretty* knowledgeable about it, but far from "knowing it all". I'm just a *long-time* racing fan, former crew member on my dad's car (have even driven it once or twice), been to quite a few different states (and race tracks in those states); I've even been to a few fairly-recent NASCAR races at a couple of different tracks.
One thing we can both (or all) agree on: we're both - or rather, *all* - race *fans*. We go to the races to see a *show*; not three cars play "follow the leader". Not go and see 15 people in the grandstands. I like to see full fields of cars. When I was still down there, I think the last race I went to at New Smyrna was the Governor's Cup last November - and was excited to see so many *out-of-state* cars again at the 200.
Do I pine for the "good ol' days" of REAL short track racing? Sure I do. Will those days ever come back? I highly doubt it. Racing won't ever be the same, especially "stock car" racing. There's no such thing any more in my book. Kids are takin' over the sport, foreign cars are taking over the sport, and it's a fact that I - or we - have to live with. I don't have to like it...LMAO...but it's still what's happening today.
So...in short...I guess what I'm getting at here is, is that there's no need for the "drama". I want to publicly apologize to the tunaman. No more name-calling on either side, no more "f*** you" PM's (and no, it wasn't from me....but rather *to* me); just some good ol' heated debating is all that's needed.
Truce?

...but, the "drama" (as tunaman and I called it...) needs to...I don't know...be a little more "under control", I guess.
