  • Signage at Eastbay

While driving down US 41 in Tampa, I passed by the turn for Eastbay Raceway in Gibsonton, this picture was taken this morning.

IT'S FRIGGIN JUNE and they haven't even changed the sign since the Winternationals in February, that's one hell of a way to promote your race track to the passing public.

      Craig.

not to start an argument but he has a valid point. if they are going to advertise, it should be up to date. if i saw that sign i would think the place was closed. its 4 months old. wouldnt cost much to pay someone to fix it.
advertisements are to let ppl know whats going on and Winternationals are not going on in June.
maybe they are so busy they simply forgot to change the lettering. a good reminder if thats the case. no harm intended.

Carol, for once i agree with you. Anyone with a nice sign like that should want it up to date and lookin good. I would assume the place is closed also.

If I had to climb the ladder to that flimsy looking platform, the sign would never get changed.

Just so i understand you correctly, you feel that if you don't have a race car you should SHUT UP and just sit in the stands and mind your own business.

For your information..... it is people like me, a FAN, that support race tracks, we buy a ticket, food, drinks, maybe a cushion if available, i might even buy a elephant ear. The reason for this thread was not to bitch, but was an OBSERVATION...........if you are selling a product you need to PROMOTE IT.

One more thing....you state that i only come on here to bitch, that shows your ignorance, i follow the board regularly and i chime in when i feel i have something to contribute, and that is rarely a "BITCH"

                Not fair...

excuse me? the fans are the ones looking for the signs! the drivers know where they are going and why! fans pay the bills just like drivers and they should ALWAYS know whats going on at race tracks! thats how we get them in....
it isnt about opinion. its about whats right or wrong this time. i think the sign should be fixed but only after getting to it is deemed safe. ;-) it does look scary to climb.

Trust me, one word of honesty or voicing your opinion and you're a trouble maker!! I love it!!

Don't care one way or the other but we have been going to East Bay a long time and the sign has always only posted what they were having for Winternationals. It will more than likely stay that way until next years Winter Nationals. Casteel racing thats funny what you said I don't care who you are.

I believe that it is their sign to use as they deem appropriate, whether you agree or not.

Maybe a better way to handle this would have been to nicely write them and/or email or letter telling them how they should run their business. Criticizing them in a public forum...not so cool, IMHO.

BTW, that sign has been "late" in updating more years than I can remember.

I know when you get your own race track, you will do things correctly.

How do you keep your yard? Let's discuss!

Just seems to me that sign is a direct reflection on the track, the owners. I've never been there, may be a very nice facility but I guarantee you ask 100 people passing by what that sign projects they'll say "either the joint is closed or obviously they don't care"

My yard isnt asking the public to come see a show and pay admittance. But you're right, if the owner doesnt care why should anyone else??
