OJ, I like a lot of your ideas and would want to do the same but I would buy OSW. Rebuild the concession stands to make it sit down seating so when the races are going on you can watch them on large flat screen tvs and eat your meal. Would build a permanent concession in the pits with the same and would have it so you could hear what is being said on the loud speakers of when the next class is being called to line up. The pits bathroom would be completely demolished and made larger and nicer with no problems of toliets not flushing and an attendant would be on duty to cover both sides. The pits would be paved with plenty of lighting, great loud speakers and water and electricity hookup at all pit stalls. All wood would be replaced on the grandstands both sides with better composite material that would be comfortable and not rot.

On second thought, my racing would be in one of the car's like Bosco's!! My goal: To race a roadcourse somewhere every week!Originally posted by Beach Bum View PostHmmmmmmmm...I'd take the old/lazy man's route and buy a nice motor home and a SCCA Spec Racer. Just travel the country and race. Those are probably the ultimate low-maintenance race car, and they look like a bunch of fun to drive.sigpic

O.J. and Cara both have great idea's. I would have to buy OSW and demolish it , and then rebuild it turning the track to wear the straight aways ran north and south so the sun didn't blind you practicing in the afternoons. That would also give you the option of running afternoon shows on Sundays and not blinding the drivers.

Hey, let me know if you get a house in Costa Rica, would LOVE to down there fishing!!Originally posted by RSB View PostMight buy another race car but I'd hire someone to work on it and a pit crew for weekends. Also, buy a house in Aspen and one in Costa Rica. Racing, surfing, snow boarding.....oh yeah!

Whats so bad about EZ? At least he treats me good, although I do wonder who he really is but as long as he's good to me I dont 'really care. But then again, some like me, some don't, to each his own. You're intitled to your own opinion.Originally posted by dd38 View PostI'd buy this board and permently ban/block UREZ2PASS or whatever it is!!!!!!

Funny, I had been thinking about this about two weeks ago. There would be some major improvements at whichever track I decided on buying (if they would sell for a fair price). First would be to look at the entertainment side to make improvements like sound system quality, a working scoreboard (most likely a video screen that could double as a scoreboard), good food and good restrooms.
I would hope to work out a payout that given a couple of years would build car counts to be a break even deal and let the front stretch make the profit by the number of people in the seats and not the price of the ticket. I don't have an MBA but I look at the tracks that charge less to get in and their stands are packed. I wonder...??
Basically I have a lot of ideas that would probably never make enough money to make it a great business but hey, I won the lottery so I could afford it and if I could pull off owning a track that had great fans, great racing and was a track that out of towners made it a point to visit like Bowman Gray or Thunder Road in Vermont that would be worth it, right?Last edited by racnphotos68; 06-03-2011, 09:05 AM.

Chad Pierce knows what I would do. I would buy 3 Hendrick cars and try to buy Chad Knauss. I would try Chad out and see how good he would be in Nextel Cup Series. If it is any indicator like having him at a short track I think we would be in real good shape. It is a shame that the talent this kid has got and others like Russell, Choquette, Brad Mays etc.. will probably never make it to NASCAR because of the big BUCK$. If I win 200 Million thats what I would do.

I would buy a stable of super late models and travel, have team cars (like back in the late 70's in Western Pa Bob Wearing & Herb Scott in the 8 Ball cars) hire drivers like James Wright & Keith Roggin. Or try to buy back Lakeland Speedway and re-open it and run weekly shows and at the end of the year run a million dollar year end race like Earl Baltes did.
