All the kids were grown and the grandsons would soon join us at the track. After 3 sportsman cars I am now in an e-mod and enjoying it the same as I did 11 years ago....Life is goooood, even after retirement, although the cancer gave me a scare 4 1/2 years ago. So far so good

I MAY have been squating a little too close to it too.I was using a dull bit and putting alot of weight on the drill to make the last hole when the bit got caught and swung the piece of material around hitting me dead in the nuts. I felt hot, dizzy and in ALOT of pain. I layed on the creeper in front of the floor pan..woke up not knowing what happened, looked at my watch and figured I had laid there for almost two hours! That was the first time and only time I ever passed out! Now THAT'S something I don't miss!
Anyway, I REALLY miss racing and think about it constantly. I'm playing some golf, surfing again, bought a mountain bike and have been riding trails AND spending a little more time with my wife(argh) and daughters. I think they wish I was still racing too!
Come over and let me take you fishing offshore sometime. It will take your mind off racing and I havent been hit in the nuts yet for a change!!

Thanks for the invite! I used to fish alot up here off Cedar Key. Had a little 20' Mako that I'd take almost anywhere. I'd hate to have to feed that 200 Merc these days!

Well I'm serious about the invite. Yeah the new 4 strokes are a lot better on fuel these days. I have a 150 Yammy 4 stroke, it hates gas!! I've hears Cedar Key is a great place, I need to get over there sometime.

This may be the real reason that racing is on the decline. Both as far as car counts and fan counts. Going week after week from Feb. to Nov. with no real vactions is just plain hard on families. And like you drivers have stated on here that doesn't count all the nights you put in during the week to get ready. Some of you may not like what I'm about to say. But the time with families is far more important then if tracks close or not. And I think alot more people are figuring that out. This is of course just my opion. But from reading these post it sound like more of you are seeing it that way.
