Florida United Promoters Series Late Model race rescheduled

Due to bad weather on Saturday Night, May 14, the Florida United Promoters Series Late Model 100 Lap race has been rescheduled for this Saturday Night, May 21. We had 28 Late Models on hand to compete. We had the cream of the crop of Late Model Drivers from Florida, just a few of the names present were: Anderson, Scofield, Shelnut, Boyd, Russell, Larson, Sergi. Guy, Crooms, Perkins. We will also be running the Legends, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Bandoleros and Pro Challenge. The following classes have been cancelled for this week due to the rainout, they are Open Wheel Modified, Mini Stocks, V-8 Bombers and Scramblers. We will also have practice on Thursday Night from 5-8 for our regular classes. Practice will be held on Friday Night for Late Models. Cost each night will be $10. per person. For the best entertainment make sure to come to Auburndale Speedway Saturday Night.

Isn't Citrus running Late Models on the 21st. I thought "alliance" tracks did not schedule on top of each other.

In support of the re-scheduling of this race, the Late Models at New Smyrna Speedway will have Saturday 5/21 OFF.

According to their schedule they are. DeSoto also has a SLM race scheduled. Not a smart choice of a weekend for FUPS.

I hope I 'am not to late spoke with Rex Saturday night they had 28 cars on the ground and it made sence to cancell our race on the 21 to help out our alliance,better for the series,I hope they will all come on my next race to help me out.Thanks again John.

Good to see that the Promoters are abiding by the "alliance". It shows a true respect for the bigger picture, and I hope that each of the "complying" tracks gets rewarded with full support from the others if they fall into the same boat.

This is a good sign for the future of SLM racing in Florida...!!!
