Any asphalt track owner in Florida who really wants to make his track successful would be well advised to either become an ACT sanctioned track ( if thats even possible in Florida ) or send some people up to New Hampshire for extensive training in how to run a race track and race series . I don't know that ACT is the only best idea out there , but i know that what they do works very well .

Arguments from Florida track owners would go something like this .....
Thats a different part of the country , what they do wouldn't work here .
We think our race tracks and various series are as good as anything ACT has .
One set of state wide rules has never worked in Florida , so ACTs' wouldn't either .
My track rules are clearly the best in Florida , why should i change to accomodate the racers from other tracks .
How can i be expected to make money if i can't do my own tire and fuel deals ?

Judging from the excellent turnout during NSS Speedweeks, I would say that ACT has their "act" together.
The rules, hence, the car costs, are more friendly to this decade's economics.
Circle Track mag had a good article on the series. I did not read that the racers were lobbying to use more state of the art parts, either.
ACT uses crate engines, 8 inch tires and spec shocks, among other non-Super Late pieces. The crate engine and shocks alone would save the racer at least 20 grand.
The last thing we need is one more division.....but is this an idea whose time has come?

        RE: Mike

You're right on but forgot one thing.
"it's a privilege for car owners, drivers and fans to be able to attend my tracks"
And this after they say 1,000,000 times they are running a business. What other business man will say, " it's a privilege for my customers to spend their money at my business?"

          Also

The thing about the article that got my attention was the ticket price, $35 for one of the races and I bet the place was packed. Proves what I've been saying all along, I don't mind paying to see a SHOW.

That's what I' ve always said too. And that's what the granstands side says too. We read millions of tricky tricks to bring race fans at race track, from free this to low price that, but if there's nothing to watch, why bother going.

Last summer, I paid 60$ to go watch the WoO Sprint car @ Autodrome Drummond, and there was another 5999 race fans that did the same and nobody bitched about it. That's ''THE SHOW'' any ''REAL'' race fans wants to attend.

BUT 5 $ (even for free) to go watch 5 classes of 10 cars or less, nope, I'll mow my lawn at home instead.
