Haven't heard anything about the race, no articles on Speed51, Karnac, etc. Who was planning on being there, how many pre-entries did they have? How come NSS has not promoted the event other than on the NSS website which I looked at today and no pre-entries were posted. This was heavily promoted the last two years and had a good car count, how come no notice this year? It seems that Late Model Racing this year is not being promoted. I have seen comments regarding the United Promoters events not getting the results out until midway thru the following week. Who is taking the lead in the state of Florida when it comes to Late Model Racing? Who is actually in charge of promoting the United Promoters Tour? We do not need to return to how Late Model Racing was 3 years ago. By the way, I did see on the Billie Harvey Memorial website that they did have a fair amount of contingency sponsors however I can not find any contingency sponsors for the United Promoters Tour.
WE'VE MOVED!!!

Like I've said so many times before many Florida race tracks are their own worst enemies. They don't promote their races and as a result no one knows what is going on at their tracks and no one knows what is happening with traveling series.
To think all they would have to do is send me some press releases at jberti-Karnac@GMX.com and they could get all the free publicity they could ever ask for.
I've said to so many Florida race track promoters over the years that they should take advantage of every opportunity to get publicity for their tracks that I'm just about to the point of no longer having the desire to do it, it is just a wasted effort.Last edited by John Berti; 04-17-2011, 06:42 AM.

it was a good race
We were there last night, the field was 15 or 16 late models, it was a clean good race. The crowd was a little light, as I recall there were more people in the stands for the Pete Orr memorial race.
All I can say is lets keep hope up and there will be some more aggressive promotion in the future, in the meantime.......lets get ready for the next race!

John, a lot of people have left this site. News isn't posted in a timely fashion at all any longer and what is posted is mostly press releases. I'm not putting you down at all, just telling you how it is. FFS is set up to post news as soon as it's received. It's forum is being used more and more, even by asphalt fans now. For instance, Bubba made an announcement several hours ago regarding some big plans for Ocala and nothing has been posted on this site, until I made a small post in another topic. However, the talk has been rampant on FFS and Facebook since then. Even Rick Anges has commented on facebook but hasn't made any mention on here, and he's suppose to be an administrator. This site seems to have become a Punta Gorda cheering section and Tuna playground lately. No one takes it seriously as a racing site any longer. It's really too bad but since Jack has stepped back, it just isn't the same. This post isn't meant to bash but to explain what has happened. My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

I don't get a dime for being the Senior News Editor for Karnac.com. I just do it for the love of the sport. I am not about to go 24-7 keeping everything up to the second on this website as I have a life outside of racing and other interests that I pursue. I am not like some people who live and die for auto racing and if people are going to expect that out of me let me tell you point blank that is not going to happen. I do the best I can for Jack Smith and I know he appreciates my efforts. Please remember Jack has serious health issues and if it weren't for that you know, as well as I, that Karnac would be much better.
Perhaps the other websites you reference have more of a staff than we have at Karnac.com. As far as I know it is just Rick Anges and I. I do the posting of Florida race results and press releases and Rick monitors the message boards. I don't have any webmaster talent. If there is anyone out there that would like to help I'm sure Jack would appreciate it.Last edited by John Berti; 04-18-2011, 12:22 AM.

John, I sent you an email but let me publicly say I wasn't criticizing you and I think what you are doing for Jack is admirable. Please don't take my comments personally and I want to assure everyone else that reads this, that my comments weren't meant to offend or criticize you.My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com
