Burt Myers injured in Super Modified wreck at Ace Speedway

Kim Myers the wife of 2010 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Champion Burt Myers, posted, on Burt's Facebook fan page, that Burt suffered three cracked ribs and a punctured lung in a Supermodified crash at Ace Speedway (NC) Friday night. Burt is still in an area hospital and hopes to be released in the next few days. Keep Burt in your prayers.

I met Burt at New Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks and found him to be a real down to earth guy and an absolute joy to talk with.

Heard from Chris Fleming, who races with Burt at Bowman Gray Stadium, that Burt is sore, but doing good.

He should be getting out of the hospital real soon, but will still need your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Here is news right from the "horses mouth", Burt himself. "I am at home WITHOUT a chest tube. Thank you for all the prayers, I firmly believe they all paid off. I have an appointment next week to be released to race. It is obvious the Lord has more plans for me here on earth. Thank you to all the staff @ Allamance Regional Hospital for taking such great care of me. Lee Jefferies will be driving my car this weekend at Caraway. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
