If the racetracks had more grip the tread tires will work.
Still cant use the motors we have on slicks.
            New pavement is my vote.

I've never raced circle track on slicks but my very limited experience on the treaded tire makes me want to try a slick. There seems to be very little forgiveness with the treaded tire. I've run roadcourses on Hoosier 3035 10 inch slicks...when the car got loose I could just drive it...... With the treaded tire I don't seem to feel it get loose until it's too late..... which really makes it hard to be confident at driving the car at it's limits...or my limits.

I like the treaded tires....if your gonna run slicks your gonna have guys bolting on 4 every week, and if your not soaking them your 2 tenths off!! So, i say keep the treads

There are guys around "bolting on 4 every week" with the grooved/treaded or whatever the hell you want to call them! They look like grooves to me.

                        Not only

Are they bolting them on. But you can bet your a*# that they are soaking them too. There are a handful of cars out there that have really made these tires work. But for the most part the tires do not give the modifieds what they need. If you have two good cars that run relatively the same speeds you can almost bet they will finish how they line up. Has anyone seen a Auberndale mod race lately. Its follow the leader...........Yes there are a few that can move up but its mostly follow the leader and thats not a race. Modifieds are meant to be on slicks. We have a open motor rule!!! Maybe the tracks can limit the tires sold?? I dont no the answer. We picked up almost a half second at P.G. and I bet citrus would really show a Differance..........Just my opinion and thats why I started this Thread to get opinions and Hopefully the promoters see It.
