  • Attention all Drivers , Has-been's, Want-to-Be's and FANS!!!!

Last night I when to a place that was all kinds of FUN!!!!!! It is the Ambassador Racing Schools "Tuesday Night at the Track". They are on CR 674 about 5 miles from I-75 exit 146 just South of Tampa. For $30.00 dollars you get to race equally prepared Go-Carts. They are powered by Honda (yes the same Company that has power Indy Cars, in F1 and possibility in your lawn mower as well). They have all the equipment you need. It's a arrive and drive. You get five races of 10 to 12 laps. NO TROPHY's or Payout!!!! Just clean FUN and all the bench racing you can stand between races. They start 6 to 8 Racers at a time. The track is on the USAC 1/4 Midget National Tour and has been in many Magazines. I guess it's about a 10 th mile Oval. Last night I witnessed three wide going into one and three and all of them swapping position every lap. GREAT RACING. It happens every Tuesday Night. Sign in started at 6:00 and the Drivers meeting at 7:00. Last night there was 13 Drivers and we were finished by 8:30 (the more Drivers the later it would run). There where Racers, from the Old PARTS Pro Series (John has to be over sixty), and couple of old FASTRUCK Racers (in their 40's or 50's) Eastbay Racers (of all ages), Asphalt Races from around the state, a Stunt Bike Rider and the rest where all FANS and Want-to- Be's. Call Ray or JR at 813-436-1114. All in all it was the best "BANG for your BUCK" in Motorsports I seen. Reply back if you every been there or would like to go. Heck I put on a helmet anytime. They also have Corp Events if you know a business that would love to have some GREAT FUN!!!

It's NOT NASCAR, BUT it's Live and you Drive!!!!

That place IS awesome! Blows Lil 500 away. The carts are fast and it takes some skill for sure.If I remember right, they race a group for 10 laps, then the next group races ten laps and so forth. If there are only two groups, this place will FLAT WEAR YOU OUT!
I'd like to see a 5 minute intermission after a couple of races.
The people running the place are great and they even have a little snack bar! Didn't have a chance to check out the restrooms! LOL!

Just left their Track a few minutes ago.

Like the Dummy that I am I left my camera on the bletchers last night. They chased me down and called to tell me it was in their shop. Oh yeah there was three Pro Race Trucks in the shop as well as my camera. When I was there I saw a Family that had their youngster in a USAC 1/4 Midget. Man that kid was flying and would of SMOKED us old farts that ran last night.... Yes, RSB you are dead on it. The race is over. You cought your breath and BANG back in for another round. The food was some of the best fried chicken strips I have had at any track including the old CCMP. As far the bath rooms the boys or mens room had a picture of Dale Sr. One that I had never saw before and also plenty of soap. So tell all your Friends to come on down for some of the real style of racing. It's a blast. I heard thats Rob "BONE HEAD" Elting learn to do the Dale Sr. SLIDE there!!!!!!

You are right Tuna, too far to go but sounds like a great time. I have only driven go-karts one time in my life and Bill Green tried to kill me in them but I actually won the race which surprised me and my friends and daughter. But it was alot of fun. I think it was Rick's last charity go-kart race he had before he started doing the charity truck race. But I would try again maybe. Not sure these old bones would take too much anymore but I also still love watching people have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a 2.5 hour drive for me but it's worth it since it's about the only racing I can afford these days! If somebody gets a group together, let me know. I can get two other guys.

I had a blast at the Lil 500 but I sure would like to do the same thing in a kart with some power. Couldn't afford to do it often though. I'd be up for going with a group if it's scheduled right for me.

LET'S do it!!!! The Florida HAS-BEENS/ WANT-TA-BE's/ and FAN LEAGUE"

The FHWF League!!!!! What's a good day for those who dare to be dumb for the FUN or just want to watch and bench race. I will talk the Owner about maybe a Friday Night FHWF Night at the Races if we could get enough to go. I'm sure some of their regulars would come. Every body put your 2 cents in!!!! Just For Fun League would work for a group name as well. The JFFL?????

Yes, and its is run as a first class race track!!!

Yes, Bob Ambassador Racing School is at JR's. It is owned and operated by JR, MOM, DAD, and SISTER. It is run as a 1st class racing place should be. Safety's always first, Shaded Grand Stands, GREAT FOOD, COLD Drinks, Grounds are keep stellar, very clean bathrooms (with plenty of soap), and a very well keep Race Track. I can't tell you how impressed I am from the registration, Drivers Meeting (JR covered everything from flags to the slow lane is the top lane) to the way they ran the races. It was great seeing other drivers and Bench Race between the rounds. It sounds GREAT getting some of us together for a Night or two of fun. Call me we could get Robert and mount a camera on the cart and he could really get some close RACING footage for U-TUBE!!!!! Sorry I forgot to ask Ray about having a Friday Night Race. I let you know. JR are said that they have had Drivers as old as 80 years old (so heck we're in). Now that’s passion!!!!!

                          If its Friday

I very well may drive up there and tape it. I am looking at buying a in car camera. That would be neat although I don't know about Robert driving it. LOL! Him and I went to the little 500 thge first of the year and I drove 3 races while Robert shot the video. Now mind you I hadn't been in a race car of any kind for 30 years or better. I spent more time turned around looking at the field coming at me than I did the right way. Just getting old I guess. At least I'll use that for an excuse. Let us know that would be fun.

It's coming together. The FHWF League or the Just for Fun League.

So far it looks like we could have it coming together.
Possible Drivers, Watchers, and FANS list:
                            ***Video Bob
                            ***Camera Robert
                            ***RSB TEAM Driver #1
                            ***RBS TEAM Driver #2
                            ***RBS TEAM Driver #3
***Tunaman (to watch and report all the action not on a week night)
***Wingers looks to be in because THESE Go Carts got the POWER
***Jane could catch a ride with Tunaman and she could go for the HAVRICK "Two in a Row" (plus I sure they would enjoy the ride, bench racing both ways)
***I am sure I can get BONE HEAD to come out. He lives in Tampa now.
***the three that I saw that raced Pro Truck from Gainsville
Heck RBS this could work!!! Sounds like a BLAST!!!

Let tell all our racing friends (if you have any) about it and ;et's get a target date soon?????!!!!!!! I will put out a e-mail to all the FANs and Teams I have from the old CCMP days.

After getting divorced in 2007, it became tough and many things changed for me and Dustin. He did continue to race in the Checkered Flag Sprint Car Series, just barely missing Rookie of the Year in 2009. I am proud of my son and his accomplishments, his focus being on college right now. He is a racer at heart, can drive anything and is good at it. Occasionally, he gets a chance to jump in something for a race or two. His involvement with Richard Petty Driving Experience keeps him in the game, great organization, and he has been getting track time at Daytona International Speedway.

I have fond memories of our "Fastruck" days, learning so much, even remembering the first day I met you. It was a Fastruck race at New Smyrna Speedway, back in 2005 (I think). You were in the Fastruck trailer speaking with Mike Skinner and his son Dustin, when we were introduced to you. We were bitten by the Stock Car racing bug and that race put us in motion. We met some interesting people along the way, mostly 99% positive.

I hope you are doing well, hopefully still involved in Florid Stock Car Racing. You are one of the hardest promoters I have known. Please give JR my regards, I have a lot of respect for him as a friend and racer.
