  • wreck at Volusia sends Pearson to hospital

A wreck during a heat race tonight at Volusia sent Earl Pearson Jr. to the hospital. His car flipped 3 times end over end and he had to be cut from the car. He was conscious and alert but I haven't heard any updates since then. If anyone hears something, please post it.

Fantastic couple of weeks of late model racing in Florida. I loved it.

    from the woo site:

Safety crews carefully extricated a shaken Pearson, 36, from the car’s cockpit and transported him to a hospital in nearby Deland for observation. He was released several hours later, extremely sore but otherwise uninjured after x-rays and a CAT scan were negative.

He's home now and resting (rather uncomfortably). Very sore but x-rays were negative.

So Winger what was your take on the 50/50?????? LOL Man I wasn't able to be on the puter Sat night, was at Disney World with the family, but when I got home and started reading Montana's updaets in his first post I was like WTF happened to Pearson but then I read about his flip. I sure am glad he is OK. He is my favorite driver in the Dirt Supers so I was freakin out a little till I heard he was OK. Looked like I missed another fun night over there in the update thread, can't wait fo rthe next race Montana covers.

HaHa, I couldn't get anyone to send me any money for the 50/50. Guess I'm going to have to start accepting credit cards. That was my first experience on that site and it was fantastic. When I couldn't be at the races it was almost as good. Montana does a great job updating and with the radio broadcast it is neat. I'm originally from NY so I was rooting for the NY drivers. But was also cheering the Florida guys like Pearson. I never saw the footage of the wreck but it sounded bad. I'm really glad it wasn't serious. Between watching the cars in person and listening to the web broadcasts, I'm totally addicted. Now I'll probably have some withdrawal symptoms for a while. I can't wait for Ocala to open and start running. I've been real disenchanted with the Florida asphalt scene but look forward to catching some dirt racing that not a 2 hour drive. Hoping to start getting some good photos also.

Sounds good to me. Definitely want to be there. I may have to pick my daughter up in Sarasota that day. (Spring break for the college.) I'll have a better idea in a week. I just have to convince her to come home a day early or a day later.
