I see on the track website that the Sportsman race will be held under FASCAR rules only, so visitors cannot go by their own rule book. That may discourage visiting teams, but hopefully it will encourage more locals. We'll see tonight.

See Rex? Here we are talking about making a united rule for different classes and the first thing we see from OSW is fear.....protect "our racers". All 5 of them from last year. We have to keep talking about this if things are going to change. You can educate the ignorant......but you cant fix stupid

I'm going to be a politician on this and stay firmly on the fence. Since I am not involved with that class, and am not very familiar with their rules, I can't explain why this changed. On the surface, it looks like protectionism, but maybe there is a compelling reason to do it. How do I know?
The E mod 50 and the Strictly Stocks will be good races for sure.

We had a 50 lapper at lake City on march 5th. An outsider came in with his 'track rules' and flat out spanked our asses.....We can't have bump stops and really high dollar shocks like this guy had. So he took the regular racers at that tracks money and left..I had fun in that race though. Turned out to be the last one for the 76 Sportsman too.
-JIMRIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.

question ? united promoters ? why are fascars sportsman rules different than the other tracks ? now they are on the same tire , why not same rules ? or simply add weight to level the field ? seems counterproductive . the car count and fan count will not increase with this attitude . Tim is absolutly correct .

Question: FASCAR puts up a decent payoff, I would presume the idea is to draw more cars, BUT I have to remove this, remove that, add this add that, to fit their rules, buy $550 worth of tires, what, $50 fuel, min. Entrance fee $25? So with this decent payout and I win, I only lose a couple hundred counting fuel for my tow vehicle. Thats if i WIN. I know its a hobby but........... time will tell. I hope it works but its still the same old thinking that hasnt worked for years. And everyone said how much better it would be this yr.

Again Don, if they can agree on a set of LM rules to do a series, they can agree an a set of sportsman rules....There's just not the same motivation..again(wink, wink, nudge, nudge)....just sayin~!
I was told because FASCAR made their 50 lap races "open" that sportsman guys were converting ther cars to Citrus rules....I said who the hell cares...its more cars under the same rules...am I crazy???Last edited by Tim; 04-08-2011, 11:23 PM.You can educate the ignorant......but you cant fix stupid

I think they had 12 cars for the Sportsman race. Lots of locals, but a few visitors too. No, it was not a disaster. There was something going on the whole time so it wasn't boring at all.
It was won by an excellent young racer, who was later DQ'd for something in the clutch. Btw: he is the son of the race director and of the track manager, so for everyone who incorrectly thought he was getting a break in tech because of his parents, remember this outcome.

Rex, Chad is as good as they come. I wish it would have worked out different. He has a beautiful car he has worked for a year on. He never got a break in tech and he always took it like a man when it happened. You can educate the ignorant......but you cant fix stupid

Take that !!
Chad got his revenge finishing first in the E-Mod 50 lapper driving Randy Froehlich's #8 Mod with a CRATE MOTOR.Score one for the crate,he is an awesome driver and started at the tail of the pack.Great race for sure.Oh yea I forgot,he sailed through tech with no problems after the race.

Well than I'm encouraged, because Chad has had more than one break at NSS in the past, like the night he was allowed to run 8-10 laps smoking and oil dumping all over everyone you could hardly see in their cars thru the windshield in tech. So maybe things are changing. It's long overdue.

ok I own that super stock and the valve cover was lose driping a little oil on to the exaust. thats why it was smokeing it was not droping oil all over the track. tech that night pulled him down and check under the car to see what was going on and let him return to the race. thats on the video And I would never want any car I have left on the track if it was a problem . And I sure as hell dont remember any clean up that had to be done after that race because there was oil all over . I have the video if you like to see it. what car number where you driveing tunaman? because the second place car told chad there nothing on his windsheld . and I can tell you this it was door to door action to the end. I am tired of you keep saying that . this race happen about 2 years ago now. and I am setting it stright . we bust are ass every week working on setup doing our home work on these cars we don't come home and let them sit untill next race this is all I do. Chad will drive my cars along as he wants. And if tech finds something wrong guess what. I will fix it and we will be back .

Look, i dont want to get in a shit throwing contest with you, but on the other hand if thats what lights your candle, fine with me! But that time I was there. When Mike Amato came in he had so much oil on his windshield you could hardly see through it. Crap like this is probably why no-one calls any of the guys no longer racing, they don't WANT to know why.I didn't say he was throwing oil all over the track, I was saying there was so much smoke no one behind him could see. I have nothing against Chad or you, don't know either one of you. You want Chad to drive your car, why should I care? Hell, you can even have Boney drive it for all I care. LOL I'm just saying when anything smokes as bad as that thing was, regardless of why, its a major safety issue, period. It was NOT fair, no big deal, it probably only cost the 2nd. place car $50 anyhow,. I have said before, I will say it again, the guys in Tech. are as fair as they are allowed to be. They don't get paid enough to get all upset anyhow. Again, its a problem with management. Dont take everything so personal, I didnt even know who owned the car, still don't, still don't care so obviously I wasn't trying to start shit with you.
