Don, this is the post I was referring to.
I agree we need to fix the problem of low car counts. One of the things that must be done is to acknowledge the problem and not try to gloss it over by praising a show with an average count of 10 cars per class. There have been suggestions but they don't seem to happen. One thing that would help tremendously would be to eliminate or combine classes. 8 classes of cars a night, actually anything over 5 classes a night is too many. With all these different classes, you are diluting car counts. Simple math. 100 drivers divided by 4 classes equals 25 per class. 100 drivers divided by 8 classes equals 12.5 per class.
BTW, I was not bashing a particular track or sticking up for one. I was bashing the car counts, as were you and Tuna, but I was trying to point out it wasn't strictly NSS's problem. My Punta Gorda reference was to another thread but I didn't believe it was necessary to post the same thing in both threads.

Now to answer your question, I don't think 6 car averages are at all interesting. What went over your head is that 10 car fields are not interesting either. And I don't care what tracks gets them. Don't say one is great when it isn't.
Where did I say one was great?? Just me, myself, I'd much rather watch 10 cars than 6..... or 3! But the real point I was making was that no-one in management wants, or asks fror any advice, not picking on NSS but do they even have a promoter now? I personally tried to talk them into a "small business night" Maybe go around, visit the small businesses in the area, even half offered to go see some myself, 2-3 yrs back. Try to get $200-$300 from each business. I guarantee at least 3 yrs ago a promoter could get at least a dozen businesses in a 20 mile radius interested. Call it something like "Local Business Night" Announce the businesses, give them tables to hand out their stuff as you walk in, free gifts etc. Maybe even give each business that donates say $300 a dozen or so Gen. admission tickets, heck one person might buy a hot dog. God knows the seats are there and empty so it wouldn't cost the track anything. Plus, I guarantee anyway you can draw 20 new people in, at least 1 will get hooked and continue coming back, i did, i watched a school bus race and was amazed by the racing and went every week, got involved with a lot of cars, for 3-4 yrs. ALMOST bought a race car, till I remembered i wasnt a million aire!! Divide the $ up, maybe even the track match it or a portion of it and give every penny back to the purse. COULD make a decent purse, purse helps mean more cars. Theres dozens of ways to get people involved, but the BIG thing is dont bite the hand that feeds you!!
I will say one thing about P.G. They are on here a LOT, or someone is, promoting the track. This is where racers and although some of you racers don't like it, but lots of fans are here too. Hey, its free to post promotional info on here. Anytime you can get free adv. space you need to grab it.
MY point is Winger, I guarantee regardless of fan count or car count at P.G. there were SOME people there as a result of posting on KARNAC about the track. Damn sure got me interested. Hell, I simply said a couple weeks ago "I didnt even know they raced at NSS, and I'm on here several times a day, and VOICE bit my head off. So yes, there IS a mojor problem with local racing and someone better take a long hard look at why, get constructive ideas or it wont be here. Heck, even Boney has had a couple ideas that might help, although I'm not sure about the one giving away your junk from your attic!!!! LOL

I do not tip my head back!
When I watch a race like this the people behind me can still see.
PS: I did not make this. I found it on the net.
