BJ was easy to watch when he was 14. In those days he was real fast .
Sport Allen at 13 was real good in a TBARA sprint for his first ride. ASs he got older he got slower.
These kide that im talking were born to a racing famley and all they knew was racing. When they found streat cars girls and soforth they slowed down.
Its not for every kid but these were at that age. There is no right age to start or stop.good kids and bad ones. In this sport it dont take long to sort them out.

Jeff Gordon dazzled the crowd at EASTBAY when he was 13 or 14. and I don't think he turned out half bad. How many NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIPS..... Back to mowing the grass for some.....

Yep bobby and i was the promoter and would not let him on the track with the other cars for practice. The deal i mad was let him time trial and if he makes it then ok he can race. 50 or 60 cars. He had to be 1st or 2nd to make it. No chance.
They broke it off in me that day....FAST TIME!!!!

i also know another 13 year old

that his brother got sick one night at st pete so the first time the 13 year old drove a race car he finished second

then he went to golden gate and won 10 feauters that year ad was track champion in street stocks an a lot of the older people he out ran said he was two young to race

then he moved up a class and the wifes of some of drivers he out ran started crying so he moved up a nother class

no he was not a jeff gordon . but he was a very good racer for for all crap he drove . nerone gave him a car and he smoked them in that car

and there was not a better figure eight driver any were , he won 82 races before he was 21 and then one night at lakeland speed way in a line of cars running second in figure eights a cat running half as fast two laps came tru intersetion

and then at the age of twenty one he was gone

He was the best ever. built him 2 cars and he won more races in those 2 years than we ever did in all our years. Hard to even think about.
I was the promoter of the race he was killed in. That was the hardest thing i ever did.
