  • track alliance ????

decided to take the 3 hour trip to new smyrna saturday for the usar and winged sprints . while there got to talking with 6 or 7 local racers in attendence and one unamed fascar employee . as most know , auburndale , lake city , citrus , desoto , speedworld and new smyrna have formed this track alliance . all of these tracks are on hoosier tires . well , i was informed by all of these people that a monkey wrench is about to be thrown in the mix . they said that if you buy your tires at auburndale , citrus or desoto you CANNOT run them at new smyrna . they are going to scan the bar codes before you race . nothing was said about orlando or lake city but since i was informed that all 3 fascar tracks have the same tire guy it may apply to them also . IF this rumor is true , it will be the end of the alliance as there would be no point of having one since it defeats the whole concept . it was implemented so racers could race at any track without having to buy a different brand of tires to race one nite . i really hope this is just a ridiculous rumor and not what is planned . it certainly will stop me from racing on a fascar track and im sure many others as well . i understand selling tires is a buisness but NOT at the cost of what many have worked hard to achieve . but it certainly wouldnt surprise me . anyone else hear this ?

If it does end up being true its funny how people thru PGS under the bus for being the only track not in the alliance and staying on Goodyears. Maybe they like alot of people know where this alliance is going to end up and just didnt want to bother with the headache.

Does that mean if they drop FASCAR none of the drivers will race 80% of the races and not get points fund? OOPS LOL. This IS funny, rumors are so.....well, you know.
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

Well it would be very easy to fix if it is a rumor for the tracks owners to make a statment on the matter at hand.

To the track alliance is this statement a true statment or is it a rumor clear the air for the drivers and race fans.

you never here no one complain about price of fuel 850 a gallon when you can buy a better fuel if you know were to get it with more octane and only got to add few ounces of out board mix 450 gallon

I was told this when I purchased tires aweek ago that if I bought tires at citrus that I could not race on them but could use them for practice at NSS and would not get a pay out if we did race on them. But we all are just beating a dead horse nothing will change...lol

To answer your questions...yes you can run your Hoosier tires from Desoto, Citrus and Auburndale at all FASCAR tracks including New Smyrna Speedway, Orlando SpeedWorld and Lake City Speedway. We will scan your tires for data collection for Hoosier but there will be no scan fee. See you at the races.

Glad to see that the alliance is still united. Tracks working together can do so much good for local racing.

thanks tracks for making it clear to all of the drivers and fans. Calling the track office only tell one person at a time and then it still not really coming from you track owners then either. So somtimes is just best you track come on and straighten the question out on here.

Again thanks for getting it straight.
