I grew up in West Melbourne on Hwy. 192, just west of Wickham Rd. Went to the Speedway most weekends. I raced go karts there as well on Sunday afternoons and occasionally during intermission during the stock car races. It's great to see pix and read about my old favorites, and my Pop's: Henry and Harry Pullen, Jim McGuirk, Dumont Smith, "Hambone" Hamilton, Royce Barton, Billy Yuma, Bob Luscomb and dozens more.
I do the vintage go kart thing now; it's still a ball to run a dual engine machine fast. I will look at this site from time to time with pleasure! Ted Johnson

If I am not mistaken your kart had twin Clinton engines and you and your father were freequent participants at the small track by the airport in Melbourne. I don,t remember your dads first name but it was the initial C. He had the small engine repair shop in what was once the "country" in that area. Your uncle Merrit was the chief scorer at Eau Gallie Speedway. I have pictures of Al Keller driving my kart solo and with hi daughter Beth Ann.
