I haven't seen Joey in a sportsman this year. Cody Stickler is driving the car Joey use to have and won his first feature in his second time out. Joey was racing Robby Aarons figure 8 car at the last Citrus figure 8 race.

$400 Come on now. Now lets see. Gas nearing $4 a gallon, You have to pay to have ur tires stamped or have to buy new ones, Pit entry $25 or $30 per person, each car brings at least 4 people to the pits, Race gas at $8.... this is what it will take for me to travel there.. truck $120,entry in the pits $100, race gas $100, stamped tires to run in the back $40, new tires to race for the win $500.. the least amount of money spent to race..$320 plus food and Drinks. Or we race for the win.. $850
So $400 to win. Doesn't take a Nerd to figure this out.

Hey, you'll never make money racing like this! Unless it is $2000 to win a 25 lap race, you might as well stay home.

If you expect to make money racing you may as well buy a set of jackstands. NOBODY makes money racing, if you could everyone would do it.

Very well said. It is a HOBBY at this level. Just like fishing, golf, skiing, etc. Even the Cup guys don't make money on the purse (except maybe the start and parkers) without sponsorship.

Citrus, sportsmen are racing this weekend. Not sure that Aaron would go down there JUST for a 25 lapper. I have 2 questions for you. Why don't sportsmen race down there on a normal bacis? You never had them as a weekly class. When Aaron and David were racing down there in 2003 they had to do it in the street stock class. Next why isn't it a 50 lapper? You would have more racers looking at that then a 25 lapper. As far as the money. Well we have all heard what boneman has said before. And it's true, but $400.00 isn't going to draw many Away from their home tracks. Because of the lack of laps and money you may not have alot of those on your list showup.

All John did was to invite you to race at his track and look what he gets.
You wonder why some tracks dont post much on here.?..so the @ss holes dont pick them apart.
Try this thank desoto speedway for letting us know that there is a sportsman race there and you would like those drivers to come..

He siad that we are thinking of having a race for the sportsmen. He gave us the facts about it. And people responded to it with what they were thinking of their idea. What would you have people do just not show up?
