I agree EZ except I'm not sure about the driver in the hauler. They put insome pretty long hrs themselves.

Hey Bobby, great race today, I thought. Stewart had probably the best car, but like EZ said, it IS a team sport. I'm not so optimistic as you about the economy though, I hope I am wrong. For one reason THOUSANDS of jobs have been lost to China and Korea NEVER to return unless tarrifs are put on the goods imported from them to make our prices more competitive on American made products. But, who wants to be the first in line to but a pair of cheap shoes for $75, instead $29.95 at WALMART? Oil has a lot to do with it but it ain't all of it.

And yeah, I agree...them guys go to a short track somewheres...they'd definitely get their a$$es whooped. Look at all the (Winston Cup) guys that tried to win the 400 at Nashville - Waltrip got lucky one year because Butch Miller and Jody Ridley took each other out with like three laps to go. But the rest of 'em just got beat up one side and down the other. I remember in '91 when Elliott ran a Jody Ridley backup car. He looked like a chump - and I was a HUGE Bill Elliott fan at the time.
Funny how you are the only one here that knew the answer, just as I figured. Ok Jimmy, lets see if anyone besides us knows the answer to my next TRIVIA QUESTION. Besides Rusty and Mark, tell me what other CUP stars made there way into the series from ASA.

A driver fan, a nascar fan,and a racing fan are three different people, and I'd be willing to bet that less than 25% of the fans that attended today's sabbatical even knew there was a dirt track next door.

                  not sure--

Dropping a few names from the past. Maybe ASA/All-Pro, and onto ARCA, or NASCAR somewhat, corrections will be needed:

                  Dick Trickle
                  Steve Christman
                  Scott Stovall
                  Larry Moyer
                  Larry Raines
                  Mike Wallace/Rusty's brother
                  Rich Bickle
                  David Green
                  Jim Sauter
                  Rick Carelli
                  Freddy Fryer
                  Sterling Martin
                  Jeff Purvis
                  Davey Allison
                  Rick Wilson
                  Eddie Biershwale
                  Bill Venturini
                  Randy Couch

All that comes to mind right now, there are others if I look around my archives. Again, I am sure there are wrongs on this list. But this is what is offered right now.

                    Your only "glaring" omission, Rog.....

                    Alan Kulwicki

Saw that someone mentioned the wins Davey Allison might have had by now....Like Davey, Kulwicki was just getting his groove on when he was taken.

ABY I hope your right 25% of the 150,000 people that were at yesterdays "Sin City 400" would make for a HECK of a sell out for the Dirt Track Promoter. Anyone know how many seats in the Dirt Tracks stands. If your right that would be a HELLA SELL OUT!!! I am kidding. But I am sure some of the Fans plan a week of it. And must of had a BLAST.
Now next weekend back to our Short Tracks in Florida. Who's going where and why????? Let's if we can take the off weekend for Cup and enjoy where the BIG BOYS came from!!!!

Same "guy<s>". The people that run LVMS (the Cup track) also run the Drag Strip at Las Vegas, the Bullring, and the Dirt Track. Not sure if Humpy Wheeler's still involved with them or not, but I know Bruton owns it all.

Well, going from short tracks - not just the ASA:
DW, Butch Miller, Schrader, Balough, Harvey, Edwards, the Busch boys, Logano, Bayne, don't forget Ridley (and he even won one in Junie's car at Dover in 1980 - as far as I know, the ONLY Cup win for that #90 car), Bobby and Donnie (used to kick a$$ at New Smyrna), Bowyer, Mike and Jimmy Cope (both have made NASCAR Cup starts), Tony Stewart (made his name in the open-wheel USAC cars), Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon (was headed toward Indy in the Sprints and Midgets), Greg Edwards (out of Virginia), even Dale Jr. ran local Saturday-night stuff before going to the Busch series (so did Kelly and Kerry), Landon Cassill (was running the ASA Late Models), Nemechek, Dave Blaney was a WoO Sprint Car standout, Bobby and Terry Labonte were terrors on their local Texas tracks (friend of mine used to run with them at Corpus Christie and San Antonio), Pletcher made a few Cup starts in the late '80s driving for Moyer...man, there's just so many more drivers.

Jimmy are you certain that Mike and Jimmy Cope made "CUP" starts ?
I know Mike did some Busch racing in the late '90's but I don't remember any "CUP" starts. And don't remember Jimmy doing any Nascar stuff. You are right on with Pletcher though. I work at the Ford dealer that he had on the side of the car. He and Moyer had the car here one Saturday just before the Daytona race. P.S. don't tell TUNA that Kinser drove for Kenny Bernstein in the Quaker State car or he'll call you Professor again. And he DID suck bad.
