  • New Smyrna night 2

I thought this was one of the better World Series shows tonight. The SLM and Crate features were the two best, especially watching Tim Russell move from 10'th at the start to a very close second on the last lap.

The new announcer did an excellent job. Mark sounded great. He had the skill and polish of a pro, and still has the enthusiasm of a super-fan.

An amazing transformation has taken place in the NSS bathrooms on the grandstand side: they are much, much better than before! Ok, so flushing is controlled by some great unseen force, and there was no soap in the mounted dispensors, otherwise they are much cleaner and brighter.

Black flags go to Jack Landis, who took out B.J. McCloud with a move that was clearly no accident, and to the line-up procedure. I think all the races were won from the front row. I don't know the procedure they used, but if there was any inversion at all, it was a very small one. Mix 'em up a little more!

Great weather, good racing with lots of cars, great company in the stands and they were done before 11!

Hopefully they'll park Jack Landis and he can add NSS to the mile long list of other tracks/sanctioning bodies he's been parked at/booted from.

They had some cars, but it was boring as I have seen in ages. NO passing to speak of. I think they may have inverted the top 2, but it was a snooozer. After waiting all year for it, I was sorely disappointed. Decent cars, but not alot of Supers that can or will challenge Russell.

After watching the UMPs and Sprints change the top 5 around and having top flight teams coming from the back, it was just no comparison from an action standpoint.

What tracks/series has Jack Landis been "parked" from? This would be news to me! Well, lets hear that "mile long list"!!!!!

I am not sure about the other classes but i am almost positive the top 10 were inverted for the SLM race.

Economics won out over good racing for me...that and getting home late every night. So I headed to NSS for a couple of nights. Other than the TBARA race and Gainey blocking Choquette in the late model race, yawn!...Should have used the money to hit the final night at VSP.
