Pay Backs

Just want to know what everyone thinks about the "payback tradition". This past saturday night I got caught up in someone Else's "payback" during our feature race for a perceived slight during the heat race.

I do not know what happened in the heat race (I wasn't in that one) but all cars involved seemed ok after the heat race.

During the feature a car got tagged 3 times in the rear and finally spun out in front of me. Unfortunately this persons car may be totaled because of where it got hit! I was able to finish the race.

I understand sending people a message, rubbing is racing, macho metal heads and all that stupidity!

But come on!!! At some point shouldn't the punishment fit the crime. Someone bumps you, you dont like it no one is really hurt, next time out you total his car!!!!

And then people have the audacity to justify it, he bumped me, I didn't like the way he drove me, he had it coming!

i think its sad if u want to go fast around a dirt track with a bunch of other cars something is going to happen ive been hit spun and never thought to get pay back unless i no that person hates me ....unfortunaly there are cry babys in this sport who take things to personal .....rubbin is racin

There are idiots EVERYWHERE out there Randy. Some people have zero class or sportsmenship and should be dealt with on the same level. The sad thing is, just as you stated, a car that has nothing to do with it usually gets the short end of the stick. I'd make an example out of this individual but chances are he/she has other drivers that they have drove dirty and somebody else may repay the favor for you

The last time we were blatantly knocked (or so it seemed) the other driver came straight to our trailer and apologized for getting in to hot. Guess what ,that was the end of it. It is hard to stay mad at a man who is man enought to admit it.Thats racing also.

I'm not saying wreck someone for just an accident or rubbing a little. Even if someone screws up but at least apologizes, I'm ok with that.
When I read your original question, one incident came to mind and that's really what I was responding to.
I warned this particular ass hat several times about how he was "racing" people but he insisted on driving like a DICK. He wrecked me one night , tore up a bunch of my crap so he paid dearly the next week. Unfortunately someone else's car got tore up too. They were a little pissed at me and asked me if I wrecked the guy on purpose and I said, "yes". I offered to help them fix it but they laughed it off and said the guy deserved it.
For those that have raced against me over the years they know that Johnny "Landmine" would never get pissed on the race track! LOL!
