  • Volusia Night Three

I was the first one to piss and moan about the late nights. Last night the show moved right along. It was done by 11pm. The track was decent, but there was still that nasty hole going into one.

Schatz set quick time for the night, then had a kid pull the pole for the feature for him. Schatz had to get Lance DeWease in traffic before he took the point in the feature. Schatz took the win, Saldana second, Jason Myers made a last lap last corner pass on DeWease for third with Dollansky fifth.

My man Haud finished second in his heat. Started 9th in the feature and had moved to about sixth when the red fell for Kraig Kinser getting on his roof in three & four with about 7 to go. I think a lot of the teams were expecting and open red. They never got it and some of the cars that made gone forward before the red went backward at the restart. I think Haud, the King & a couple others had the tires seal up on them.

Schrader & Wallace had to tag the tails of the B's in the mod field. They both won their B's. Schrader came from 23rd to 5th in the A Main.

Now for the Bubba portion of the report: The talent in the beer stand under the tower was grade A+. The talent in the Lasoski t-shirt trailer undertsands about filling out tight fitting shirts...And the BBQ pork chop was the size of a t-bone steak.

Tripper's man, McCarl had to run the C-Main again last night. Transfered to the B but couldn't get all the way to the front. Good thing I bought a T-Mac camo hat. Wednesday's winner Wayne Johnson almost got lapped in the A.

Schatz & Dollansky were fast. Pittman found something late (gained 10 spots) and Bubba's boy Kemenah (23rd to 8th) got the hard charger award for the feature.

Great report. I love these kind of "personal observation" posts. Anyone can give a top-5 rundown, but I wanna know all the details, like tight-fitting T-shirts and stuff!

        Other tidbits...

Tony Stewart was there last night wearing a Fayette County Sheriff t-shirt & Bass Pro hat. He's working his way to being a contestant for Celebrity Biggest Loser! Its got to be the Schlitz...

Johnny Johnson & Jason Sides didn't run last night. It appears a couple of the All-Star teams are headed home instead of running with the Outlaws. It will be interesting to see if Wayne Johnson stays or heads to Loxley for the ASCS show on Saturday.

Lance DeWease is your current All-Stars points leader after the Florida swing.

Good to see Dale Blaney make the feature and have a decent run...

Tim Kaeding had a run in with Fred Rahmer during the heat. Kaeding isn't making many friends in Florida this year. That's two nights in a row he's had trouble.
