And it's not the "first practice", as the cars have been on the new pavement already for at least three days last month.
I really don't get this. Why is it considered a "new era"? Help me understand this comment. They've been running the so-called "CoT" car now for what, almost three seasons now? That can't be it. Junior hasn't won a race in over two years, so that can't be it, either. Mark Martin, the "hometown boy" (now, anyways), has never won the Daytona 500, soooo....help me out.
Is it because the track just got repaved and *maybe* we'll see the entire field in the "big one" this year? And from what I understand, it's not all of the Cup teams, it's just the ShootOut cars on the track (I *think*).
...Which has gotten ridiculous in its own right. <Sigh...>

David Reuitmann is my former driver, I was a crew member when we were at Lakeland, USA international Speedway then. Now he in NASCAR.
First practice, it`s really not a first practice, but they did ran a goodyear test drives twice, last Dec. and last month too, they know what the track is like now, and practice today weather condition is differance then the weather condition for Sat. night Shootout. Remember that, cars setting and handle differance from 5pm at 60 degree weather and sat night going down to 40`s something degree, track will get cold and hard on tires, and trying get tires hot for high speed.

There you go again Jimmy, picking apart everything anyone else says. Did he spell everything right?

What did I "pick apart", Fish-head? Looks to me like all I was asking was, why is Bobby calling this "a new era" for NA$CRAP? That's all. I have yet to see an answer. It's not really a "new era"; the CoT car has been out for a few years now. Jimmie Johnson has dominated the Chase the last four years. The *racing* still sucks. TV ratings have been down the last couple of years. Sponsors (and therefore money to run the season) are getting harder to come by. When Jeff Gordon has to put "AARP" on his race car, you know somethin' ain't right. It might the "first competition" of the year (the ShootOut), but it wasn't the "first practice" and it wasn't the "first time fans can sit and watch".
I still want to know why it's a "new era". That's all.
First off, turn down the god $&%@ volume, nobody cares about nascrap anymore, don't you get it? Every time you make a post about it how many responses does it get? Stop beating a dead frickin horse dude, it's not even funny anymore.

My daughter recorded saturday nights mess on the dvr, I watched bits and pieces of it, what a frickin joke. I wouldn't go over there if it was free to get in.
wish we could bring NASCAR racing back to the days of real STOCK CAR racing. i dont know how you guys felt about the shootout but i was bored silly. a couple of daring moves but otherwise not worth watching.
