World Series Pre-Entries

I had really hoped that this year would be the year for the World Series SLM stuff to take off again - with strong fields in the Gov Cup and Red-Eye. In looking at the pre - entries (12) - it has a good grab from a variety of places, but only 12 cars is not that exciting when I can go see 50+ each in Winged Sprints and Mods.

Why the low count?

Hey Bubba.. That count always is much better than that.. You might look at what date that it was updated as well .... I am sure that there are more than that by now...

Yea, I am not expecting to see 50 or anywhere near it, but 25-30 would be a nice show. Ironic you use the term "derby" as that was the last place i have seen 50+ SLM's for an event. Like I have for 30 years, I will be there regardless, just wanted to be as excited about it as I am the dirt stuff.

The list I saw was updated on the 21'st - so unless they are holding out - it is slim pickings this year.

Things are looking up..as of 2/1 there is a solid pro late model field (25) with entries from all over hell and back. SLMs are up to 17 also with some good entries from all over, combine that with the ACT shows and it might just be a hell of a show! Wish they would combine limited lates with the crates.

In my opinion, the Limited Lates are a dead class. Too far ahead of a Sportsman, but a step behind a Super LM. Not to mention, that there are almost nowhere else to draw from.

You know what could be good? The Late Model Sportsman series that runs throughout all of the Carolinas and Virginia. There are plenty of cars, quite a few well heeled owners/drivers (Brandon McReynolds, Kyle Grissom, Corey Lajoie), plus long-time Pro's at that game, like Phillip Morris, C E Falk, etc...

My point is, there is pool of over 200-250 cars just up the coast, that I think would have the budget, maybe the desire, and probably the support to give it a shot... (kinda like the ACT experiment this year). When this class runs Martinsville once a year, they almost always pull over 100 cars in ONE class. (Taco Bell 300... check it out...)

I hope it would be considered in the future... they look kinda the same, but they ARE different, very competitive, and might bring a boatload of them to town.

The Limited-Late Models are a dead Class..............

New Smyrna Speedway is running them as their weekly top HeadLiner Class this year, I think.... ouch!

I don't understand why they don't just go to Pro Late Models. Then you get cars from Pensacola, Mobile, ASA stuff, all over. If they changed it from limited to pro (coil over crate cars)...I would buy one tomorrow and run it there, but I won't buy one just to race once a year there. If they don't want to dissapoint the guys with the LLM cars, combine the classes somehow for the remainer of this season. I mean isn't it obvious from the pre-entries...25 Pro late's...5 LLM's? Am I missing something?

Just finished updating the Pre-Entries... Some notable drivers added including Bubba Pollard #18 who is expected to run in Saturday's Pete Orr Memorial as well...

You can run a ASA style latemodel with the limiteds at NSS weekly shows

Bubba has been one of THE hottest racers in the Southeast for the last few years. If he is entered with the 18 car, that means he's driving the Ronnie Sanders car. Ronnie was a top-notch racer himself for over a decade, and really knows set-ups. These 2 combined are powerful. If you see Bubba in a #26 car, that is the family owned team, and just as strong.

Reminds me of the situation we saw last year with Ryan Lawler/Robert Hamke... they'll be fast right off the trailer, and a threat to win poles & races.

Ronnie Sanders is one of the best driver owners in short track racing i was ever envolvied with.
A work 24 -7 if that is what it takes and will keep you smiling all the way.
He has won just about every thing in shorttrack racing. Im not the guy to quote them but i have been in his triphy room and its hard to beleave all the trophys from the last 40 years.
When i though my son would race Ronnie steped righ up and helped us with that like it was his own boy and car. We will be proud to have you back in florida racing wiith bubba if you come .
