FASCAR had the awards banquet tonight and it looks like things went pretty well. I know my wife and I had fun, but the food at Daytona is surprising. I had "chicken", but it tasted and felt much more like "alligator". I bet they caught it on the track property; must have pulled it out of Lake Lloyd.
My wife loves steak, but had to leave half of hers. Maybe it was Kevlar coated because she couldn't do much damage to it.
Funny thing about the party, it took a while for the crowd to get warmed up. In fact, things really took off when the music was turned up and everyone was wandering around. It occurs to me that we were finally in our natural state: standing up and yelling to be heard, just like we are at the track.
I talked to dozens of people tonight, and most were pretty optimistic about our future at the tracks. Sure, there is always uncertainty in racing, but I bet we'll have a better season in 2011 than we did in 2010. I have finally started back to work on my cars in the past week, so bring on the start of the racing year!
