I'd love to see one of these guys race a time or two at NSS. Now THAT might get a crowd out there.

Them "big name" guys rarely will come run the short track stuff any more during SpeedWeeks. Back in the '70s, guys like the Allisons, Pete Hamilton, Trickle, and Evans would run the "big track" during the day, then come over to New Smyrna 15 miles away and run the World Series. I'd love to see guys like Kyle Busch, Keselowski, Carl Edwards, Clint Bowyer, or even Tony come and run either New Smyrna, Volusia, East Bay, or Ocala. Edwards and Bowyer I know run them IMCA/UMP type Modifieds once in a while; Tony's got a Sprint car team; and I know Kyle's got an asphalt Late Model team (they won the Snowball just a coupla years ago, didn't they?).

I *love* seeing Schrader and Wallace get back in them dirt cars, especially when still run pretty good

Ryan Newman has been in a Modified for the last 2 years in a row at NSS, even winning a couple of races. Kyle Busch ran there 3 years ago.

Hmmm....Jerry, do you know whose car Newman was driving? Never knew he was there; I know I was there for the Richie Evans race the last two years...

Newman was driving Kevin "Bono" Manion's modified...he won in it a few times this past summer

cfont, figgered he drove Bono's car, I know he won one of the Bristol races in it; I was actually referring to New Smyrna, as I don't recall Newman being there the nights I was there.

But...yeah...there's still a *few* of those guys who'll go and run the short tracks. Pretty cool to see 'em at your local track once in a while

It is awesome to see the "big" guys running at the short tracks.. We all must remember that they may want too, but they also may have "responsibilities" to deal with like appearances for sponsors, etc., etc...
