  • Just so folks know, thanks !

I am no longer general manager at Orlando Speedworld. I was told by Robert that all decisions for Orlando will be made by Barbara Pierce. So I am assuming she is the new track manager. This is what I know as of a phone conversation wth Robert.

I want all to know I have no hard feelings with Robert or any Fascar employees or staff. I tried hard last year to be out n the community and working with businesses, passing out flyers, inviting and giving out Buy one get one free etc. We did have new faces visiting nearly every week, but we could not retain them because of car counts, show etc. I tried to make sure things were ready each week, open and working smoothly. I tried to keep track clean and ready for racing. I wish the track the best, I love the place and hope it can be turned around this year for the good.

I will be forwarding info on a few things started and worked on to Barbara to follow up with. So please call the track 407-568-1367 week days 9-5 to talk to Barbara.

Good luck to all and the drivers at Orlando Speedworld in 2011.

As of now I believe the Charity Race Weekend will still be held at Orlando Speedworld December 9th & 10th, but will let you know if that is not the case.

Thanks for being willing to take on a tough and thankless job. Hopefully you can continue your good work with the truck race on into the future.

Rick, the bad news is you were dumped. The good news is that they probably added five years to your life by not having to work at maybe the most thankless job in motorsports.

                Thank you

                Rick,
Good luck in your future path. I want to thank you, and all the other staff for the pleasure of running there last year. Being from South Florida, and was hard to make it more than the four times I ran, but loved it when I did get to run. You made the trips fun, and I again thank you.

                  At Least---

Orlando Speedworld never cooked their books with rosy attendance figures on either the front grandstands, or the back pit gate. The Numbers were what they were, and non-inflated, whatsoever. I wish Mr. Bristol the best of luck.

What does all this have to do with Tuna?? I personally hate to see Rick go, I think he worked very hard. I'm anxious to see how it goes next yr!! I'm not going to say why I can't wait to see if it's any better there next yr.

I'm interested in, let's say, more fun, interesting activities than arguing about a dying sport. I'm sorry to say that, I loved it for a while. Most of my enjoyment here comes with picking on Boney. My lifelong buddy!!
