Yes Doug the mods are back on slicks at PG this year.

Yes Doug Punta Gorda Speedway will be running 8" slicks for the modifieds this year. Hope to see you down some this year. All Open Wheel races will be 50 lappers with qualifying. Trucks will be 35 lappers with heat races and a few 50 lappers, more 50 lappers for the trucks may be added at a later date. Trucks will still be on 8" Goodyear grooved tires.

How have you guys been doing? owm53, scooter71.. sounds like old times coming back, count me and batman in for sure! Ill make a couple calls and see if i can get a couple more i think the first race is in early March, funny thing is may not remember how to drive without a restrictor plate. WATCH OUT! LOL
Gar352 i have a couple of questions for you.. will their be an entry fee for the 50 lapers? and if so how much? what will the 50 lap races pay? (just curious) complete payout would be nice, because there all going to want to know, including me. Is there going to be a friday night practice? will kevin let us camp? How many are you planning on inverting? or is going to be straight up start? are you still doing the double file restart down there? and last but not least.. are you going to have a duromerter rule? or is it he who buys the most prep wins?! THank YOU!

p.s. Please talk to kevin and try to have some type of non wing sprint car race, this year. Got one sitting in the garage ready to go...

Yes own53 you know me. Would love to be able to run all these races but the funds are not looking so good for that. Not sure when I will be out there if at all. It's good they went back to slicks but if you can't put slicks on every week its gonna be hard to win.

Hey Tony and Doug,

The 50 Lap OWM races will have a $50.00 entry fee. We will have Friday practice and yes you will be able to camp over night. There will be an invertion and there will be double file restarts. We will eventually have a durometer rule after we test the new tires. We have not yet established the purse but it will be fair and car count driven. Will let you all know when we get it completed. Looking forward to a great season with the modifieds.

Double file restarts can get a little hairy but will see you that friday. And from the racers i have spoke to i beleive we will have good car counts
