Now Jim that wasent verry nice.
Iv known Rick sence he wes about 15 years old.
He worked for me for many years and we havent allways seen eye to eye i still like him.
I heard that he was sick.
Then i heard that they wouldut pay him for the winter so he went bask home
then i heard that they let him go and got some one else.
Now none of that is any busness of mine and i posted to tell whom ever that he was not there any more.

Big difference in being "let go", leaving on your own, or having to leave because of illness. One has a negative connotation, the other two don't.My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

Hey Don, I can't answer. I have no idea what happened to Rick. You are the one that said he was "let go".
Initially I thought you was making a joke when you said to "tell the diff". Now, I'm not so sure. So I'll try to explain. When a person is "let go" the implication is that he hasn't performed up to expectations, or there has been a disagreement. When a person "resigns for health reasons", it's often implied that he has some health issues and is unable to perform his job up to expectations (his own or the employers) , so he has chosen to resign so someone else can take over. That would leave the impression that he has done what is best for him and the company.
Seriously, I'm unsure when you are kidding sometimes. So don't get PO'd at me if you was just kidding. My photo site: http://www.rewingphotos.com

The drivers meeting RICK had almost killed me...
I went to the first drivers meeting Rick held at CMP. He was mainly introducing himself and staff and just trying to let people know what the track was planning for the next year. Well, right off the bat, most of the idiots in the Hornet division kept shouting out questions about rules to him and you could tell he was getting REALLY frustrated. If I were him, I'd have thrown up my hands, headed to my car and never come back. I ended up leaving after about 15 minutes of listening. IT'S DIFURNT UP HERE! Good luck to the new guy!sigpic

RSB, I've been to the same type of meeting and its so sad. In 1990, Leroy Davidson held an open house at PGS. At the time, the track was 80% complete and he wanted to get some interest from the racers for his upcoming grand opening. Well, Leroy did the same thing Rick did; introduce himself, his track staff etc,.. then some clown starts WHINING like a child about the rules in pure stock versus the bomber class. There are hundreds of people there who wanted to learn about the new track, and all we could hear was this fool complaining.
Its amazing how selfish racers can be.
Best of luck to Gene the new manager of CMP.

Rick’s drivers’ meeting was never intended to be a discussion about rules. It was strictly a meet and greet. He was completely unprepared for the on slot of questions on rules. This meeting is intended to serve both as a meet and greet and as an opportunity for the drivers to weigh in on the proposed rules changes.just wantin' ta race.....

I think someone suggested it before but the new guy definetly needs to have separate "rules meetings" with each class.
In Lake Butler, If I were him I would start the meeting with, "whoever asks a rules question concerning their class has to pay a $100 fine before they're allowed to race this season!"sigpic
