  • Busch gives back to 'roots' racing

Those of us who haven't much cared for Kyle Busch are having to reconsider that opinion: I'm noticing a turn of the tide on racing Web sites like Florida's KARNAC.com, the gathering place for the most dedicated race fans in the state. None of us have been able to say that Busch isn't one of the most talented racers in NASCAR, but his take-no-prisoners style has sometimes been hard to endorse.........

Interesting. I find it hard to believe he's ever experienced "roots" type racing. At least my definition of it. Isn't this the same guy that said he'd never go back to 5 flags after his car was DQ'd? He wanted to be allowed to run just because he was a "NASCAR" star? I think he's a he!! of a driver, among the best, but certainly not someone I'd use as a role model.

The reason there's been a "turning of the tide" is because this week is pick on Steven Wallace week.

the Busch boys... BUT...read about KARNAC!

not to long ago Kurt Busch was being scorned and booed etc. he has come a long way. i met him personally and he is a polite, clean cut fun young man who seems to realize that he needed to mature. he has done that and earned alot of respect from fans, officials and drivers.

I think kyle is going thru that transformation. he is a magnificent driver and i think he will do well.
i thought we went to watch racing. well if thats the case watching kyle last year was pretty darned exciting...

BUT!!!! aside from all that i think i just read that KARNAC has been recognised as FLORIDAS gathering place for the most dedicated race fans by the ORLANDO SENTINEL! WTG Jack! maybe some of that hard work will finally be recognized! i think Karnac has tried every avenue possible to bring the racing family together. people are starting to notice and speak! a few years ago i had noticed some names on the Karnac board... one of them was BUGS STEVENS! i asked him if he reads the board...YES... and if he does then many more are also. almost every serious driver and owner/promoter in this state and many other states have been in touch with the Karnac/Real Racinusa boards and info! it took years of dedication and beatings to get here. YAHOOOOO! WTG Jack and all who have helped make this happen!

this is great news. i talk to jack every night and his ideas for the future of Karnac/Real Racin USA are phenominal... this message board has been like a swarm of butterflies going thru metamorphasis! finally people are reading the stories, listening to the radio shows and searching for photos...something for everyone.!! i am so proud to be part of this! YES!

I wonder if some people would agree with you after what happened at Lakeland Saturday night.

I think Alanis said it it best.....

A little too ironic.....don't ya think?

Funny how attitudes can change overnight.

              Never ceases to amaze me.

His car was illegal at USA also but from what I heard they let him do some half way fix on the noise. Also was told before the weekend even started he had 14 sets of tires setting at his pits. Glad to see a local guy when.

i dont understand what you guys are talking about. the nice things i said were about KURT BUSCH! i still like Kurt. he is polite and friendly... i said to give Kyle a chance because Kurt learned and changed alot of his spoiled ways. Kyle is not a people person. he proved that to alot of people Sunday.. he was not in any hurry or frenzy when i saw him. he was slowly just screwing a small pice of screen on the front of the car and it was a couple of hours before race time. the new engine was already in!
i am convinced that if i said the sky is blue. certain people on here would say it was pink... if you think it gets to me you are wrong. i say what i feel and if im wrong i will say so....i am honest and i have never talked bad about ANY driver. i always try to find good in people. God knows we all have enough faults. they will show up on their own. but the good things are really whats important. being kind and decent to people and overlooking SOME faults.
i am hoping kyle will be more tolerant and kind to fans. he is one of the best drivers in NASCAR! that is a fact. but it isnt always about winning races.
                  im tired... night folks! ;-)

ohhhhh i WILL pray for your safety Kyle...like i do for all drivers!

Even I have the good sense to not approach a driver before a race.

                      Facts on Busch at SpeedFest:

Only 14 of 45 cars passed complete inspection the first time through. Most had things to fix before qualifying and all did, including Kyle.

There were NO tires sitting in Kyle's pits when he got there (or anywhere else). He got his out of the same impound everyone else did.

Shame on me...I incorrectly assumed he was in the large number that didn't make it the first time based on someone else's report. Congrats to you and your crew for having it right the first time!
