Well how did it go?
Got lots of friends there and want to know how they did.
Some one other than u now who respond . not trying to start anything but it seams to endup that way.

How did Chitwood do? i though he quit the last time i talked to him he was done.

I'll put it in a way that you will appreciate Don: last nights Crash A Rama will make Florida fans anxious to see more crashing/demo shows. Overall it went very well: the place was packed with SRO fans, the car counts were solid and the events were filled with action and destruction.

I brought two friends who were there for the first time. They had never been to anything like a redneck rodeo and expected to stay only a few hours. I left during the last event around 12:30 and they were still perched in the stands and having a blast. There is no higher compliment for a show than to say that it made some new fans. To my amazement, the main stands were still 80% full at the end!

No injuries, thank goodness. That is bad for the participant of course, and it holds up the show, but we didn't have that last night. I was in the pits with my car and didn't see the stunts, but I could hear the crowd and it sounded like they approved.

I think the 4 and 6 cylinder enduro had 21 cars and ran for 50 laps. The first 25 used the "kidney bean" track, and the last 25 were on the oval. I ran that race with my $200, 4 cylinder car and was pretty competitive with everyone else. The car was nothing but junk with a paint job, and that was the idea: make it easy and affordable. We didn't have any of the conflict that the "pro" enduro cars bring, this was just a fun ride for everybody.

The bus figure 8 started 20 or 21 and was outstanding. There was no shortage of spins, flips and stalling in the intersection. Best of all, it went off early enough in the program to play to a packed house.

I managed to finish one spot out of the money in the double flag pole, and got DQ'd in the skid car race when my skid plates flipped over. My friend's car locked up at the starting line in the enduro, so I let him drive mine in the demo. He was really jacked up when he climbed out after his first derby!

From my perspective, everything went very well and without big delays. It was a successful show any way you looked at it.

other than the endro still being broke it sounds great. the $200 car is what we hoped to get at all the shows. years ago we had a $500 claim on the winner buy the track but it was abused.(buy me to) .I allwase wanted to drop the winner from a crane it the infeld at 100' right after the race. Now that would be a show and lots finishing 2nd.
that is the kind of report i was hoping to get a fair one.
Glad u had fun and that is the reason for the show.

It was interesting to actually watch this thing as a "fan" for once... I was there last year but it was so friggin' cold I spent most of the night standing by Robert Kaspers BBQ grill with about 50 other people!!!
The action, when it was happening, was great... Even though the Enduro only had 21 cars, it was very good and easy to follow what was going on....
The "aborted" start of the flag pole race, although it could have been a disaster, was pretty hilarious... Bomber Bill Loomis has this race totally under control... He has won 9 of the last 10 flag pole races at Crash-A-Rama..
Bus race was pretty good... so was the Fig-8 trailer race... Elvis was good as always and Benny the Bomb was pretty awesome... Couldn't really see the demos since I was in the pits.... I really wish they would give these guys more room to move about... The area they use is way too small... Boat/Trailer race was very good especially since there was already tons of crud on the track to negotiate even when the thing started...
The only problem, not just from what I observed, but from what I was hearing all around me is the show just DRAGGED... Way too much down time... Rick Bristol was grabbed to announce at the last minute and he really did as good a job as he could, but there just was a lack of "excitement" to the whole thing... With all those people, only a 50/50 raffle prize of just over $300?.... The front-end loader drivers seemed to be off kilter a bit which helped slow down things a bunch... By the time the bus race was over, the back grandstands had almost half-emptied with still a lot of events left...
Still had a good time and I guarantee you the show will not drag at Auburndale... We have a lot of neat stuff planned!
