Was looking at the list of winners of the Governor's Cup, and noticed you're missing some car numbers. If you wanna update it, maybe I can help (or someone, maybe Marty Little or Westerman will correct me if I'm wrong...LOL):

1966 #57 Bobby Brack (I think he was in his own 57 at the time...I know he drove for Merendino and Handshaw a few times; also drove the BeanPickers' #zer0 in the early '70s)
1967 #84 Dumont Smith (Merendino?)
1968 #237 Gary Balough (Handshaw's car. He didn't drive the 112 until the very early '80s)

1971 #84 Jack Arnold (his own #84, not a Merendino car....LOL...just read on another site that he won this race in a Chevelle, and not his usual Ford?)

You did pretty good with this Jimmy....

1964 - Fryar was driving #48
1965 - Wayne was always #00jr
1966 - Was not Brack's car - Leroy Tate owned it
1967 - Dumont won in #99 a car out of the Vero Beach area that Jim McGuirk had just stepped out of and Dumont picked up the ride as a last minute deal...
1971 - Arnold was driving a Black Chevelle but can't remember the number... Started on the pole and led every lap... most boring Governor's Cup ever... I don't think anyone toward the front of the field actually passed anybody.
Gill was always in #4

The second race Reutimann won actually was won by Randy Tissot... A scoring error had Tissot shown a lap down... Reutimann actually agreed that Tissot won the race, but, of course, wasn't going to make it public... The track refused Tissot's protest, probably since Wayne was a local guy and very popular...

Hamke's second win came after he ran off the track into the dirt barrier during hot laps... his crew just barely got the car ready to run before the race started...

Yeah, those late '60s-early '70s Governor's Cup were *just* a bit before my time. The first one I can remember going to was the '76 race, the year Hamke and Malcuit knocked Johnny Hicks out of the flagstand. They used the figure-8 stand in turn four to finish the race...

Would Dumont have been in the Bob Beaudreaux #99 Chevelle?

As for Bobby Gill, I know in the *early* '90s, late '80s, he was in a Vinyl-Tech All-Pro car #24, white Camaro or a white Olds <?>. Not sure what he had at New Smyrna though...can't find any pics or race results with car numbers...
