I just got off the phone with David Stremme, and it looks like he's getting out of his crate engine car to have NASCAR Sprint Cup car owner Ray Everham wheel it during SpeedFest activities. They are currently putting the final details together to make this happen. Ray was a pretty good racer in the northeast before turning to crew chiefing, and then car ownership.
SpeedFest is the perfect time of year for the stars to come out and support short track racing, and Lakeland is the perfect place. I wouldn't be surprised to see some other special surprise visitors during the weekend. Add to that the top short track racers in the country, and its a "Don't Miss Weekend".
With Stremme, Busch and Evernham already in the mix, the surprises should make it even more fun!
