Maybe all the tracks should allow the recapped tire. My understanding is the cost is much less.
If all the tracks would work together with a tire deal, gas deal, etc. as Boneman suggests, everyone could get a better break. There's buying power and savings in bulk buying. You could even save with concession supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.
BTW, do you all think the tires companies are donating money to the points fund for nothing? I can almost guarantee the "donation" is built into the price of the tire.
Did the owners agree on having consistent rules for their classes? I haven't heard anything about that.
Carol, how can we go by what you say if we don't go to Punta Gorda and see for ourselves? Your praise of the new owners is exactly like it was for Bobby Diehl. Heck, I thought the track was doing great until it suddenly closed for a few weeks and it was announced that new owners were taking over. I don't believe any tracks are doing great at this time, even the ones that are often mentioned as having large car counts and full stands. I just don't see it myself and I am at these tracks regularly.
Can you see having to bring your gas with you to save.50. Plt 10 gal of fule in your traller and tote to the track for a savings of $5.00. I think most of the tracks dont want to sell gas they are doing it for a service. There are a few that make it hard for the many. Track fule only rule or every one bring there own. Both the track and the racer are getting the shaft because a few want to beat the system. Reminds me of tax.

it would be an honor if you could one day make the trip to PGS... try for March 5th. Gonna be a fantastic night...;-)
more news soon.
Bobby started off with debt. he could not get ahead. he started out with huge problems and kept borrowing thinking he could make it up. it just kept getting worse and he was surrounded by people who were also stealing from him. he has such a good heart and tried to help so many people. they all screwed him...Bobby teaches shop. he is not a businessman.
Kevin owns a cable company similar to Comcast. he is VERY successful in all his business ventures and didnt start with debt...
Makes a huge difference....i know bobby screwed up winger. im not blind or deaf. i just dont understand why we have to keep going back to that. he is gone and kevin is doing what bobby wanted to do but didnt have the money or the know how... it is sad as he loves racing and he loves people and now he has lost everything. how can anyone gloat over that? im just not that way... sorry.
so come on down ....

Someday, I hope to make it to PGS and all the tracks in Florida. It just has to fit my schedule and wallet.
Don, when I was a little younger fuel dealers would bring the gas to the track to sell. Usually the dealers were also a racer or a parts dealer and had the gas in 55 gal. drums to sell. That ended when the tracks and sanctioning body made their own gas deal with the fuel companies, just like the tires.
When I was a lot younger, we use to stop at the Sunoco station, on the way to the track, and get their highest octane to race. Before that we had a rubber hose and siphoned it from the tow vehicle. LOL
DOT stoped the 55ga drum so the dealer was out.the track had to do the permit like a as stasion.
Now for the old way i sent a crew member to the airport for fule on Wed afternoon the only time i could get it. then additives from mitton. anyone rember those days.Ron does he burned down a few in his day.
Let me buy it at the track and everyone has the same stuff.(isnt that what u want all of u to have the same stuff)
and as far as fuel me and my brother use to mix our own fuel back in day
sure it worked sure it went fast and yes it had plenty octane time you got all acetone and all other stuff in it the fuel line would only last week ot two
it would eat fuel pump up also -- buy fuel at track it's safer and you can breath while you race
