BJ has posted on Facebook that he has been diagnosed with cancer (I don't know the details about that), and will begin treatments very soon.

Please keep our good friend in your thoughts and prayers through this rough period he will be going through. Luckily, cancer treatments have come a LONG way in our lifetimes, but I'm sure there will be tough times ahead.

They say attitude is everything in beating these things, and he seems to be hanging tough... the old buzzard is gonna BEAT this thing!!!

Another person battling cancer! They seem to be all around us: Jack Smith, Ron Abney JR and now BJ. I know it is a long and very tough road, but I am so grateful to know many cancer survivors who are beating it.

BJ has the same cancer,in the neck area, that I was diagnosed with 4 years ago this month. Paid him a visit today to prepare him for what's coming for the next 4 months. The fact that I'm here to tell the story gave him a new outlook on the future. If I'm still clean after 5 years then it's a done deal for me. Have 1 1/2 years to go.
The thing that helped me the most through all of this is my racin' family.
BJ has a lot of friends among us.

Thanks guys. I'm just trying to get one up on Jack, that's all...LOL!

I'm approaching this with a good attitude and a lot of positive thinking, and my goal is to get through it in better shape than ol' Diamond Jim Higginwhatever did, since so far it looks like I have almost the same thing he did.

Unfortunately I don't know anymore than the fact that I have the disease, and it is the reason for the huge lump on my neck. I have an appointment to get results of a CATscan on Monday, and then surgery on Tuesday, to remove my tonsils and try to see what else may be going on in my throat/neck/head area. After that it's off to the oncologist who will set up my chemo/radiation or whatever treatments we decide to do. Those that want to follow along and get regular updates can visit my facebook page and check out my notes. The ones concerning the cancer are open for everyone to read.

it looks like you are in for a good fight. I hav had one or two in the last year. Something good i found in that fight. You will change the way you think of your famley. Your real frends will be there to help and you can see them in a different light
God will drive for you all you have to do is hang on and trust him.
