  • Updated info for the Citrus Ministock race!

After the last 100 lap Ministock race in May, many drivers commented that they would rather run a 50 lap race instead of 100 laps. So after talking with our drivers, we have changed the race on 9/25 to a 50 lap race. Cars will still qualify as normal, and an inversion decided by the dice roll.

Please visit www.citruscountyspeedway.com and check the message board for a complete payout and rule information! If you have any questions please call the track office at 352-726-9339 or send me a message on here.

I've run there a few times using my Hoosier tires. Will this be allowed again for the 50 lapper? Looking forward to it!

No, I'm sorry Boneman, you will have to run American Racers

They should let him run with those tires. They are not any better than the American Racer, and it would add a car to the field. Also more guys may come knowing they don't have to buy another set of tires. We let all tires run a couple of years ago and everything worked out. That class has only had about 7 showing up on a weekly basis. I would think that the track wouldn't turn anyone away.

Please tell these Drivers to get the Sand out of there Vagina!! you don't wanna Run 100 lapper?!!!! How are any of you going to make it to "the big show" with this kind of attitude, and I must agree why do they have to race on those tires? look people its a d*mn tire it is Black round and full of air seeing as you can't muster up and be able to hack 100 laps what difference does tires make? and 50 laps is not long enough to make good tires bad or other tires better. Stop being so picky thats why car count Blows like a prom date..

              100 laps ? 50 laps ? 33 laps?

The thing I disliked the most when we were running the FMSC series was going to Citrus. We paid to run 50 laps, and because there were a couple caution flags, we ended up getting to run 33 laps. It was out of the series hands too. The track was the supreme lap cutting machine.
If you want to run 50 laps, you better start out planning to run 100. Then you might get 50 racing laps.
You'll just chase them off by cutting laps. Hell , it ain't even race day yet and you've already cut the race in half.

I'm ok with whatever laps they throw up there. Just let the different tires run so there may be more of a car count. We plan on bringing 2.

Good news: I got a message on Facebook from Doug in the tech shed. He says Travis is ok with Hoosier tires, as long as they don't punch less than 50. I figured something would work out, and it has.

Tim, I hope you can bring your car too. That will be a fun road trip!

Here's the Final decision from Critter:

                    75 laps
                    $25 entry fee
Qualifying with a dice roll invert.
Race 35 laps and take a break to fuel and adjust air pressures only, and then race the remaining 40 laps. A few cars with 8 gallon fuel cells would be real close to running out of fuel in a 75 lap race.

You may run Goodyear, Hoosier, or American Racer tires. But they must punch no less the 50 on the Durometer at anytime during the event.

                    Sorry for the confusion!

Now that's how an owner gets more cars for a race. Thanks!

I agree Jason, that was good. And the guy that took a chance and started outside, crossed the finish line first. Just didn't make it past tech.
