Sunoco – FAST Florida All Star Late Models are set to tackle CMP on Saturday, September 18.
The FAST Late Model series will make its 1st appearance of 2010 when a host of Hot Shoes from all over Florida converge to do battle for 100 laps of action packed southern style stock car racing.
Current point’s leader Wayne Anderson of Wildwood will be on hand as he looks to add to his slim 95 point lead of Rookie of the year contender Austin Kirkpatrick. Anderson extended his points lead with a second place finish at the 12th annual Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway. He’ll be looking for one spot better and victory lane when the series rolls into CMP.
Kirkpatrick is the leading Rookie after the NSS event and hold a 40 point lead of Wildwoods own Randy Anderson. With only a few races left this could be one of the best battles on the track.
Other drivers expected to make the haul to CMP include the balance of the top 10 Kyle Maynard, Jeremy Gerstner, Alan Burns, Todd Allen, Daniel Maddox, John Gerstner, and Perry Lovelady. We will keep you posted as the series provides confirmed entries for the event.
Also joining the Sunoco FAST Series will be the CMP local division of Sportsman, E-Modifieds, Pure Stocks, V8 Bombers, Hornets and the ever popular Spectator Races.
Saturday racing action begins at 7:30 pm. Columbia Motorsports Park is located in Lake City, FL off I-75 and Hwy 441W (exit 414). Turn on Howell St. by the S&S convenience store and CMP will be down on the left. For more information call 386-752-8811
