  • Friday night Still Works..

Hmmm I was just perusing through the results of MIS, Madison International Speedway up in cheeseland... And they had a pretty good night of racing with two(2) Late model races, Sportsman, Bandits, Hobbys, and Legends... All with Features, twin heats, and Qualifying... (About 80 cars)

And then I checked on Superior Speedway, They had 5 divisions with 96 or so cars last Friday...

Hell for that matter Thursday works too as I was perusing through some results at Wausau.. (50 or so cars)

And if you are jonesin' some more you can enjoy Tuesday nights up at Eagle River for a little dirt action...(about 45 or 50 cars...)

And for that matter you can't miss Slinger on Sundays.... LOL..

Sorry all just got to rub it in...

    Have a great day all...

But of course they only had about 90 cars on Sunday... SLM, LM, Sportsman, Thunder Stock, Slinger Bees, Figure 8's, & a Spectator Race

Economy hell, I have got relatives all over Wisconsin and the economy has been as tight up there as it is down here... And there is over 30 active tracks up there...

Well Dwayne, Mr. Hart has said OSW and NSS are not his living, only his hobbie. I believe that MUST be true, and know what? Wether we like it or not thats his right, sad as it seems to be. Fishing is now mine and in a way he and I are alike. It will be that way until my boats and his tracks sink. Differance is I'm no taking anyone with me!!

I WAS a huge fan of racing but have been practically pushed away by "clicks" and all the fighting, B.S. favoritism with rules etc at the tracks etc. etc. I wonder what the reason hundreds of others have left. You're right, it definately is NOT all the economy. There are more people no longer racing than racing today. Sorry, boats are just as expensive to buy, own and maintain as a race car, there are no sponsors for your boat, plus the Ins. is right up there. A CHEAP offshore boat today will run you $30,000 MIN up to $300,000. And there are so many boats if you're not at the New Smyrna ramp by 5:30 on a weekend you have to park 1/2 a mile away. Why????

Anyone ..with all respect...that lets themselves get runaway from somthing they love by a click must not have loved it that much! There is no way that you could run me away from racing...and do you really think that track owners, managers, workers etc don't get slammed in the "click" of things?

As for the economy...WOW I am sitting here at a 7 million dollar facility that they are trying to get a fraction of that for .... no takers yet! ALL tracks in Florida have been hit...so it is not that you can blame this owner or that owner for that! Series are down in their counts. And traditional races have lower car counts. I have dealing with tracks in Texas...HIT! North Carolina...HIT! Georgia...HIT! South Carolina..HIT! North Carolina..HIT!

The economy is NOT what ALL is wrong, but to say that it is not a huge part of it is just not right!

With a boat...there is no point fund...you take it when you want to...and I see a lot of them that are repo'ed...I know someone in the boat business here in LA and where they had close to 50 boats in the yard a year and ahlf ago they have 1 solitary boat in the yard.

I am not getting on to anyone!!!! Just if you love your hobby...and that hobby happens to be racing! DO NOT LET ANYONE DETOUR YOU! You know what they day if they can't take a joke LOL

You are right! I'm say 2 things. Lots of tracks are drawing big crowd and big #"s of race cars. Some arent. Why? i have my opinion but have been told "You dont race so your opinion is not wanted" Thats fine. I no longer put $5000 or more in other peoples race cars every yr or2., and EVERY ONE of then are out of racing or running last, Every week!! I love it!! fun to watch and laugh at them!! so they can shit on me when the $'s run out!! Sorry.

              Friday nights can work IF,

              1. there is good racing
              2. lots of cars
              3. and an east coast and west coast sea breeze doesn't collide over OSW every afternoon.

I am not gonna waste anymore air with 1 and 2 but #3 can be directly controlled by starting the season earlier, ending it later and taking the summer off. SNOW BIRDS LOVE RACING but they do not want to see 2 car features for the $15-$20 they pay to get in.

Hey Rusty good to see you back on here again... Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the economy is not hurting it... I am just trying to say that it ISN'T the only factor why racing is suffering... My apologies to all, for not clarifying that in the first place....

And yes, right now I am financially not able to race my own car, but I am at the track working with friends on their cars at least one time per week... I would love to be at more than that, and I would love to be running my own car again, but I am supporting it anyway that I can...

Wishing we would all be doing that...

i watched a race thursday night k-n gresham ga

i know it was probably raced on saturday night came on speed channel at 6pm but if that race or a race half that good was ran on a tuesday night at auburndale or orlando - citrus you would not be able to find a place to sit

if you did not see it you missed a bad bad race that is what our local tracks are going to have to have real car races 3 wide passing

it ain't economy people want to be entertained they don't want to watch 6 cars follow the leader wake up lets race if only six cars show up make them put a sack over there head and drive backwards

                    now that don't sound right

what i mean is i want to see good fast full field of race cars the stands so full that it takes 15 minutes to get a coke

and i don't want to see same guy win ever week in a 5 car race

and no bottom feeder race car drivers get up on wheel and drive by the car in front of you on out side
