      Spectators

Is it possible for spectators to come and watch the event? My wife and I are interested, but would like to see the event first before deciding to particpate.

If we can spectate, where do we park, how do we get in. Can we get some details.

      Thank you.

Absolutely, everyone is welcome!! Our karting track is located in the infield at the Walt Disney World Speedway. The track is just inside the entrance of the Magic Kingdom parking lot. You enter through the parking toll plaza (tell them you are coming to the speedway, no charge for parking. this is a good tip for any time you visit the Magic Kingdom!!) and follow the signs around the outside of the track. Sign in at the guardshack and come in through the tunnel.

Practice rounds will start around 3pm as drivers arrive, with First rounds of racing at 4pm (starting earlier to avoid night racing)

We are interested in any opinions or ideas you might have, so we can make this event as much fun for the racers as possible. If you come and want to sign up, thats great. Last time was nearly sold out, so we're hoping for the same or better. Starting with October, we are planning to run a 3 race Fall series. We will announce the dates on the 12th, so this would be a great chance to get practice.

          *snicker*

that's more restrictive than any other track in the state.

not that i have a problem with it, i just thinks it's funny that a GoKart track has the highest age requirement.

Main difference being they possibly can't reach the pedals, and it takes a good deal of arm strength to get around our tight track. These aren't amusement kiddie karts, you can get hurt and we will shut someone down for driving in an unsafe manner. Kart racing is about out-driving the other racers, not crashing them to get by.

That said, the previous event featured some of the closest, hard fought racing we've seen but also the cleanest, most respectful driving of ANY group that we've hosted.

Glad to hear everybody had fun, we had a great time just working it!!

This time, should be no worries with darkness, so more track time and hopefully more rounds for all. We're still working out the format for this go round, but we will make sure the field gets a little mixed up to make for good racing. We'll have bigger shade, and drinks available trackside (water soda etc). Tommy King back on the PA, almost worth the admission alone.

Don't wait too long to sign up, I'd hate for anybody to get left out!

Drivers must be at least 16 years old with valid driver license. That is stupid my son is 14 and he has been racing Karts all of his life. He could probaly out run 3/4to all of the people there, and puts one hell of a show on. but why should I care it is one less car there and I don't have to worry about my Kart getting messed up by some idiot who don't know a single thing about racing.(but is over 16 and has their drivers license)

well, damn, i should hope so. not having any weight handicapping is probably going to give him a 50lb advantage on the adults. more, if Tenney shows up. if he can't kick their asses when he's got the Danica advantage he's not going to amount to a thing when he grows up.

                    *psssst*

you ain't allowed to run 'your Kart'. unless you were planning to crash it while loading it into the truck there's no way you can hurt it during a Disney road trip. because they're not going to let you unload it.

i dunno, mang. there's some pretty tall 14 year olds nowadays.

i still think its funny that we've got 13 year olds running Super Late Models but you think they're too young for your place ... ( not that i disagree with your position, i'm just talking about modern reality )

You still get what I am saying about my kart geting messed up you are going to have 16 year old kids out there that that have never been in a Kart before, and it takes a lot more than 1 practice session to be abale to race someone side to side and not end up wrecking.

The 13 year olds out there racing super late models is kinda stupid to me, but what the hell if your dad has enough money to go out and replace a Superlate after you wreck it go ahead just don't take anyone out when you wreck it because there are people out there that work hard for there money to buy there car.

But that is just what I think.

funny how it never seems to work that way in real life. most of them seem to turn out like Ricky Stenhouse; obnoxious little a-holes that will wreck the hell out of anyone who gets near them.

I'll skip the kids in supers thing, thats for another thread.

10Racing, I'm sure your kid could beat many out of our group. To be fair, of 45 racers maybe 3-4 were under 18, most were 25+. If they were racing heads up, all weight even and all karts the same-- he would have his hands full, we had some good talent last time (karting, sports car, stunt drivers and even a Nascar truck racer).

The main reason is it's our equipment and our insurance, we have to draw a line somewhere. And I'm not crazy about the idea of a 12 or 14 year old with unknown experience racing against a 25 year old pro racer either.
