The Florida Midget Auto Racing Association (FMARA) ran their eighth race of the season on Saturday night August 21st at Punta Gorda Speedway in Punta Gorda, FL with Sarasota's Ted Durfee winning his fifth feature of the year. After a wild crash on lap five that took out Sarasota's Jack Duffy, and Riverview's Jay Stutz, Durfee passed Brookville's Jamie Barnum on the restart and cruised to the victory. Durfee was followed to the finish line by Mike Belusar of Punta Gorda in second, Barnum in third, Geoff Styner of Cape Coral in fourth and Chris Gimmler, Palm Beach Gardens in fifth. Durfee won the first heat race while Duffy was winner of the second

duff still doing ok? sounds like he had a pretty bad crash and sometimes it takes time for the pain etc. to kick in.. i pray he is totally ok!. hard to keep that man down for long. thanks...

Jack is doing OK. He has a mild concussion and a broken left hand. I spoke with him around 2:30 pm today, he wwas still joking and laughing! Thanks for the concern Carol.
