This is exactly how rumors start and things get out of control on this message board. Let me explain why Miss Owens showed a 30th place finish.

She was in the Chicago area for a testing date for her Chicagoland race at the end of the month. While there she planned on visiting relatives in Illinois when Bill Venturini called her and asked her to do him a favor. Even though this wasn't one of Miss Owens scheduled races he asked if she would get in one of Steve Arpins backup cars and start the race. They planned on her to do a few laps and come in just so Venturini could get some points for that car. She held off her visit to relatives and headed to the Illinois State Fairgrounds. She started the race and came in after 4 laps by Bill Venturini's request.

This was not a race result for Miss Owens as these post make it out to be. It was a favor done for her team owner. She then continued on with her trip to see her relatives.

I hope this helps everyone understand what really happened and put any present and future rumors to rest.

Right Rex, that's why my post said-" she parked," I looked at the results. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out she and some others entered as field fillers or to get owners points. This reminds me that I wish Dave Blaney could get a cup ride that that would let him drive the entire race.
